Is there a demo of H2? I want to try if my old PC can run it before buying.

Upgrading a PC is so hard. You have all these updates, and disks, and what not. When it comes to upgrading a Mac, it's easy. You just take your old Mac, throw it away, and go buy a new one!

There is currently no Halo 2 Demo/Trial of the game, which is unfortunate since it would probably make the game more popular, looking at Halo 2 PC, it seems dead.

Go here to check if you can run games. Also, I doubt that the computer can run it if it's "Old". Halo 2 Vista requires a lot more power than it should.

(By the way, mine comes up saying I passed recommended settings. I still have to run it at 800x600, windowed, FPS Limiter set to 30 FPS, and lowest detail level for it to run smoothly. Though I think that's due to my computer dying the past year...)

I play it with maximum settings, 1920x1080p, AAx8 AFx16, with vertical sync.

Still looks like crap...

Why do you limit the frames? Forcing vsync fixes mouse lag by itself. You should ALWAYS run in fullscreen too, less lag, unless you have some other reason.

For the limiting of the frames, it gives me an unbearable visual lag without it. When it tries to reach 60 frames a second it ends up going at around 10. When I limit it to 30 it somehow works better. As for the Windowed mode thing, I have a 37'' TV as a monitor. It is large enough in windowed mode for me to see everything perfectly. It also adds for the game to still look good (Due to it using every pixel in a small window instead of a limited amount across the entire screen) while not lagging as much. I also do 10x better when running something in a window rather than full screened. I do the same with Halo PC even though I could run it at 1600x900 without a problem.

(Oh, one more major reason for windowed, I like to be able to easily access things on my desktop. I talk to my girlfriend through MSN and a lot of friends through Facebook. It's nice to always be able to see if someone is trying to contact me.)

As for the problems running h2v due to poor performance from my computer, I'm getting a new computer in about 2 weeks. I won't be limiting frames after that :P
