In my opinion...

I was recently going through some of my old playlists on shuffle, and a few familiar yet distant tracks appeared, ones to this day I have never forgotten about, and will always remember. These songs are what define Halo 2 for me.

High Charity Suite
Unforgotten
Cairo Suite
Heavy Price Paid
Delta Halo Suite
Sacred Icon Suite
Mombasa Suite

In my opinion, Halo 2 had the best music of any video game series ever. It was (and still is) very moving, and even in the coming decades, I will never forget that which has been forgotten.

I feel Halo 2 was Bungie's greatest, for the story it told was massively amazing in every aspect.

I remember Halo 2 for it's campaign, and the story it told, not for the multiplayer or the glitches. I live for the story of Halo.

If you remember, Halo 2's campaign was the longest out of all the Halo games (not including Halo Wars), and in my opinion, that is what defines a true story. If only it were longer, and if the other Halo's campaign were just as long, if not longer.

Looking back it feels like the Halo Era has been short, (mainly because the campaigns weren't very long). But alas, we must rejoice and hope for the best in the coming fire. (You know what I mean...)

I have been, and always will be, a fan since the very beginning.

Yes... massively filled with very obious 2D objects in every cutscene that are amazingly pixilated. Not to mention the epic fail lipsinking, horrible voice acting, and multiple unecesary breaks in canon. (green marine armor, Pillar of Autum in first cutscene being a Mathathon class cruiser instead of Halcyon, making the SMG the marine's standard weapon instead of the MA5B assault rifle.

Ah yes... 15 boring and cliche filled 20 minute levels that ended with a cliffhanger so bad that even Bungie hated enough to not dirrectly pick up on it with Halo 3.

Looking back it feels like the Halo Era has been short, (mainly because the campaigns weren't very long). But alas, we must rejoice and hope for the best in the coming fire. (You know what I mean...)

The only Halo game (not counting Halo Wars in this although I should) with a campaign to be even called long is Halo 1. The levels were massive, the enemies were difficult, (and thus couldn't be bypassed as easy as Halo 2) and the game actualy felt replayable. Unlike Halo 2, it was not something you would want to saw in half, shoot, tape togeather, and then try to get your money back for.

If Halo 2 is remade then there needs to be MASSIVE improvements. Adding in extra ODST bonus missions would actualy make the game feel long. Making the game actualy somewhat difficult would also make the game feel long.

As for the story... some helpful "THIS IS WTF JUST HAPPENED" information boxes on the screen would be nice so that the game is understandable.

Multiplayer on the other hand...

it is unrepairable

I am in league with SperSonicFire to be honest. I do agree with Omega however that the missions were not as long as the first one, however, you do get the impression that there are more levels by the mission select screen layout...

Although, my side of this debate would not alter if you shot me. Halo 2 was a superfluous title.

I don't care about how low the graphics may be. It's all about the story the game tells for me.

You obviously did not understand that this was my opinion, so I have marked it at the top of my post.

You cannot forget when "The Last Spartan" used to be played. And playing this on xbox live was one of the most amazing things ever. Playing live for the first time was mind blowing.

The radio tramsmitions in halo 2 are -blam!- impossible to understand with the static and its poor quality, it's supposed to be the twenty sixth century for goodness sake, halo 2 is still stuck in the nineteenth.

Radio chatter was perfectly legible in halo 1, I don't get it.

REMEMBER SUPER BOUNCING ONLINE,REMEMBER THE BXR. REMEMBER THE PRO'S. REMEMBER WHEN PEOPLE TOOK THIS GAME SERIOUSLY. REMEMBER WALSHY AND THE OGRE'S.REMEMBER THE CAMPAIGN. REMEMBER THE FUN TIMES WE HAD.REMEMBER HOW LITTLE KIDS TALKED TRASH. REMEMBER WHEN PEOPLE TRIED THE QUAD SHOT, BUT THEY FAILED. DO YOU REMEMBER WHEN PEOPLE CHEATED ONLINE LIKE SUPERBOUNCING THEN THE OTHER TEAM GOT MAD. DO YOU REMEMBER YOUR FIRST IMPRESSION WHEN YOU FIRST SEEN SOMEONE SUPERBOUNCE. I WAS LIKE WOW, HOW DID YOU DO THAT. HAVE YOU EVER GOT BXR'D AND WAS LIKE HOW TO (BAM) HE DO THAT. THIS GAME WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN. I WISH IT WAS NEVER DISCONTINUED.

this is your opinion but I doubt it is wanted and I disagree with you, the game was the second hardest to beat in halo history I still have not done halo 1 or 2 on legendary completely. I also beat halo CE in a single day and beat halo 2 in two days, I feel like it is longer. Halo 2 also has the only caimpagn with an elite as a main playable charactor with their own story in the single player. I think it is good for this as a main reason.

Yeah, H2 was longer because it had more levels, I thought most knew that. It was also the best game imo so anyone who disagrees can voice there opinion also.

Also, I loved playing as the Arbiter and most people I know loved playing Live. If you love another game....why not just go to that forum and have a good time.

".....and my personal favorite, You Just Got Sarged."

RVB :Sarge

If you didn't like halo 2's multiplayer, then you sucked at it. (or you didn't actually play the game in 2004 when it came out.)

Best game of the series by far.

I like multiplayer, and, as I said, have been playing Live on it ever since it came out. I just fancied the story line more.

I really enjoyed Halo 2, I've played it through I don't know how many times, much more than any of the other ones. The graphics are terrible looking back at them, but they didn't bother me at the time. Still doesn't really bother me.
I agree about the music, though. I don't listen to any of the other soundtracks.

Out of all the Halos, I'm not really sure which one I think is the best. I enjoy them all.

The first minute and a half of the soundtrack High Charity Suite from Halo 2 wraps up my emotions on the passing of Halo 2 XBOX LIVE quite well.

Yeah, about a week or so ago I played HC and it brought a tear as the music played. Silly, I know, but the memories are great and hence the tear.

Halo 2

When I strive for victory I might die

Casting those flamboyant, fabulous daisies

Over gravemind, dust, and echoes

I may die striving for victory

but yet do I pass I can still see a flash

of my childhood; of the wild; of the best time of my life

Halo 2

What I mean by this oddly corny poem is that I will never forget Halo 2 because of all these little things. I will never forget, even if when I'm deployed I get KIA. Videogames are rather unimportant to things such as death, however, I think you and I both share this deep relation of nostalgia and impact on our childhood do to this title, and it is great.

I got the jist of your meaning, not sure if you needed to explain. Well done Commander and Halo 2 is part of the best times of my life.
