Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

So the wired 360 controller has a USB port, so what I'm wondering is if I got Halo 1 CE for the PC would I be able to plug in the wired 360 controller and use that as my controller instead of the mouse and keyboard?

After researching the topic today it seems that it can be used with a PC but whether or not with Combat Evolved I'm unsure.

Yes, it can be used for Halo: Combat Evolved, although I highly suggest you use a keyboard and mouse instead. You will need accuracy for this game (due to the lag you need much more accuracy than the other Halos) and the controller doesn't give that. My advice is to play it with the controller one game, then the next the Keyboard/Mouse. If you don't like it, oh well, continue doing it for about 2 months and see if it doesn't grow on you.

It's just that I've never really used a mouse and keyboard for any competitive game before, and I'd like to try it with something familiar first.

Then you will become last in every match you play.

Halo has the worst lag and network code of all of the halo games, this means you will have to aim ahead of your targets. This will be next to impossible with a controller AND without the autoaim of the console halos, keyboard and mouse are far far superior and easier to use, you will be severely handicapped.

Go on, learn to game the right way man.

Add me to your friends list if you haven't already. It's a lot more fun to play with people from The Maw and people I know than random noobs.

I strongly recommend getting used to the Keyboard and mouse controls. Try playing through the campaign. You can also customize your controls however you want, unlike the xbox games.

Trying to play multiplayer with the controller will be very frustrating as you will not have the amount of control you need to compete with the keyboard/mouse users.

I'm a big skeptic of the whole mouse and keyboard thing.... BUT if I start off practicing with the campaign it can be donePosted by: Zetren
