U MAD BRO is the only thing I can say in response to ben. Halo 1 requires more skill as a game than Halo 2 does, this is a fact.

you've mixed "skill gap" with "skill". Two completely different things. Read the discussions on the previous pages.

Halo 3's custom lobby was so kickass. I remember joining friends who'd then invite us all to another friend's game lobby, and we'd be like 15 people doin some crazy custom thing. That kind of stuff came to halt near the dawn of 2010. It's kind of sad. Now most custom matches are used for warm-ups and 1v1's and all that boring stuff.

Yeah. That's right. I don't have a 50 in H3. I never got Onyx in Reach. If a game sucks too much, I won't even bother trying for such trivial "accolades". Besides, I've done way more things that take far more skill and talent than anything that can be done in a video game.

If you only know how to shoot your target, you can't win. You've missed the point.

You're right. Actually, being able to shoot your target yourself has nothing to do with it; the game does it all for you. It's all about how well you can camp, throw nades, and whore weapons that allow you to kill players that are actually better than you.

Basically, I just told you that Halo 3 stats mean nothing. I told you exactly how they mean nothing. You told me I'm wrong, and cited -you guessed it- Halo 3 stats as your proof. You have nothing else to back your point up by other than the very meaningless numbers that I've explained away.

Do you see your logic fail yet? Not that I'm expecting you to, just asking. And if there was any doubt in anyone's mind that you're a total idiot and know absolutely nothing about FPS gaming, you give us this little gem:

Words cannot describe that stupidity. We're done here. Go play with children some more and come back when your IQ breaks 80.

Nah I can't. I ran out of live back in April and felt it wasn't worth it to buy for extra time on live. I'm also in college atm so I don't have access to an xbox. A dorm neighbor brought an xbox but with Halo Reach and ODST (as well as black ops and other games) but not Halo 3 :(, so even if i recover my gamertag on his xbox I can't play with you. .__. Sorry dude.

Not really in the mood to regurgitate everything that's been said for the past few pages. It's a continuous cycle of me explaining and you ignoring with false accusations and knowledge. No point to it if you're not gonna be mature about it.

You're right that we have reached the end of this discussion, though. Nothing seems to be entering your head correctly. I've given you analysis to gameplay for both H1 and H2-3 and analysis of skill and skill gap, correlating the two together to help distinguish why these two different Halos play the way they do and still provide for an equally skill-based experience.

I forgot about that disc... I haven't checked that yet. But then again, will I be able to play with my account recovered on someone's xbox? I still wouldn't have gold membership, right?

I don't think it's possible to switch gold membership onto another account. But who knows, I may just play using his account. As of now, he doesn't have internet working on his xbox anyways.

You haven't explained anything. All of your posts up until this point have been a bunch of rambling with incoherent and flawed thoughts that establish that you know absolutely nothing about FPS gaming. Nothing more.

Stopped here. Nobody in their right mind would listen to someone explain the fundamentals of a game they know next to nothing about. You explaining the gameplay of Halo CE's multiplayer is like Margaret Thatcher explaining basketball.

Here's what I've acknowledged in this thread so far:

1. You're terrible at FPS. Utter garbage. Found this one out first-hand.
2. You're attempting to explain, and use in your comparisons, something you don't know about to a degree where it would be logical or reasonable for you to explain it to other people (Halo CE's multiplayer, FPS gaming in general).
3. Halo 2 takes far less skill to play than Halo CE, as well as nearly any FPS game on the market, especially on the PC. Knew this already, though.
4. You don't believe this is true, yet...
5. ...essentially proved my point by explaining how you don't need to be good at core fundamentals of the FPS genre (aiming, dodging, ect) to be "good" at Halo 2.
6. You have yet to:
a) explain how Halo 2 takes skill to play, and/or
b) make any decent attempt to invalidate my argument that various mechanics in the game contribute to the game not taking any skill to play effectively.

Yeah, I think we're all set here. GG.

That definition fits you far more than it does me. In fact, you've been following this psychological process from the very beginning that i've met you. Game over for you, I guess.

Try me. If you actually present sound logic instead of pretending to know what you're talking about, you'll have done more than Ben has so far.

  • 06.28.2011 10:28 PM PDT

ah -blam!- it. there is individual skill and there is team skills. individual skill is aiming, dodging, tossing nades and such. team skills are knowing where to go and who to shoot to best benefit your team. Halo 1 was too much geared to the individual skills, people that could kill most of the other team by themselves, whereas halo 2 was made to be fun for the whole team. sure there is auto aim but now everyone in the team is useful, in halo one you would get instances of one or two people on a team dominating because the slightly worse players couldn't quite match them, in halo 2 it is set up that maybe the game doesn't need as much individual skill but now the whole team is useful. NEITHER GAME IS BETTER OR WORSE, just different.
