There once was an ugly barnacle. He was so ugly that everyone died.

The end.

This is my first real attempt at writing a some-what decent Halo Fan-Fiction. This prologue-like summary will just give you background to the story so you should understand it.

The year is 2560, 7 years after the official end to the Human-Covenant war. Humanity survived the alien onslaught, but at the cost of losing billions of lives, both civilian and military forces. Now, humanity is in haywire. The UNSC has lost stability in its colonies. Goods are in scarcity, cities are in riots, lives are in danger. The United Rebel Front and its factions have gotten back up on their feet, proclaiming that the UNSC is unfit to be humanity's governing power, and are standing right at the UNSC's doorstep, threatening to break in.

This fiction follows the story of a group of ragtag marines, stranded at the heart of the Rebel's home planet, as they band together to attempt a escape and take the fight right to the rebels.

This story is inspired by the movie Saints and Soldiers. Some Events that happen in this fiction might sound a little similar to those in Saints and Soldiers, but are in no way intended to copy.

I am currently working on chapter one. I hope you will enjoy it.

Sounds interesting. Just a few questions...where are the Elites during this time? Are they still with us, coexisting among our worlds? How do the humans respond to that?
If you don't want the elites in the story just explain how and why they left in the begging. Though, personally, I think the UNSC would gain some pretty interesting technology from them.
