-A special 32 player playlist with many objectives (like invasion but bigger, better, more frantic maps with many more objectives) on huge maps designed for them. Think Bad company mixed with Halo's Invasion and such. It should utilize Pelicans, phantoms, special types of vehicles (Drop ships and such), falcons, jets, ground forces, sniper points that don't dominate everything, have good weapon layout, an actual base with depth ans special rooms like for weapons, sniping, vehicles, teleporters that can lead to places in the base and on the map for reinforcements, a roof, a flag room, as well as some pointless corridors and rooms that lead as a secondary route to some places. So maybe it'd be like some sort of ODST Spec Ops unit.
-A special 16 vs 16 playlist for the things I listed way above. Imagine having on-spawn classes like
ODST SMG + Auto Mag
AR + Reg. SMG
BR + AR
BR + ODST SMG
AR + H3 Magnum
Now imagine choosing spawn points to certain areas. Base, the back lines of defense before the base, weapons room, remote base, sniper point on base, landing pad, vehicle garage, etc.
And to help support squad work and teamwork, we're all in squads of 4. Teammate quits? Spawn on the other 3, a few needs backup? Tell one to back out and spawn on him. Searched MM in a group of 3? You stay together AND get an extra guy. Since people have more than two friends, putting 3-4 guys in the same group would increase teamwork between them. This in addition to the spawn points above.
Hey, this could be CTF, Assault, Big Team Slayer, or an advanced version of invasion. Like, to do the final objective, you have to go through everything like Invasion would normally, but the enemies have to do the same to you for them to win! And maybe with more types of objectives. Imagine, break through the front lines, capture the flag, then bomb the base. All while the enemies are defending themselves, AND trying to do the same to you! That will help increase teamwork, and create a combat zone in the middle. Though these bases would have to be really big, just like the map. Multiple paths to take, take some air vehicles to them, land vehicles, etc.
The front lines will have real cover like sand bags, bunkers, fox holes, etc. This would be EPIC.
-Falling damage. Halo 3 campaign-style. You either die or take no damage and land safely. Just extend however long it takes to die by a few seconds. That way using the drop pods will have meaning and you can't just make an escape by jumping off the twin towers. If it was like that, 9/11 jokes would be fine.

-Individual damage modifiers. These modifiers would be great so you can play with weakened precision weapons and others can play with stronger precision weapons, or for people that want to recreate settings from H2 or CE.
They can also be used to help improve our own custom gametypes and so the developers can easily edit and improve MM if they/we don't like something. Not to mention make fun gametypes that don't have to be created around the weapon's pre-existing damage.
-Custom game searcher? Maybe add a description to your game, if open, so they know how to play?
-How about when you play single player, you have one scenario, then in co-op, it changes slightly to where teamwork is required.
-Ability to add clouds, rain, trees, etc. Rain and weather like it could work how death barriers (EXAMPLE!) work. Add depth, width, length, circumference, etc.
There should also be special options like density and such.
-A system where an assist counts as 1/2 a kill, that way you still get kills if you mainly get assists. Something similar for wheelman medals and such. That way you get propper credit for assists and and motivates you to help out the team by driving vehicles and assisting teammates.
-Make the quit ban longer to about 30 mins, or an hour. People are still constantly quitting, especially in small games and other ones where teamwork is important.
-An extra sudden death when the bomb is planted and already in sudden death. And a sudden death in Slayer-type matches where if you are losing by five points and the timer runs out, you have a chance at making a comeback.
-Reach customization ability when in the armory. Imagine all the stuff the ODST squad have on their head.
-If possible, maybe some youtube rendering? I don't care so much as long as I can download the films and clips, but the option would be nice.
-A Forge World with different areas like a night (or dark) area, a desert area, a small town area, etc. Maybe two different forge worlds, like add a New Alexandria or New Mombasa area?

Sword is broken in Halo: Reach.
Both the shotgun and the Hammer can kill someone with a sword at about 1.5 to 2 times the distance that the sword can kill. This needs to be rectified.
Also, it takes approx. 1 full second for the sword to actually deal damage after the trigger is pulled. This should not be. I should be having results as soon as the trigger is pulled with any weapon.
Also, in campaign: The damage each weapon does is scaled as the difficulty goes up. This should not be, and is an example of False Difficulty. How the weapons are used by the enemy should be the only thing that changes. I don't want to have full shields and still die from three shots from a plasma pistol on Legendary anymore. That is FALSE difficulty. If an enemy wants to kill me with a plasma pistol, it should have to keep continuous fire on me until I die from the guns SET damage.
Couldn't have said this better myself. Though if the damage for weapons goes up for them, it should go up for us to some degree.

In Campaign, the ability to command your AI friends to not drive the Warthog when I'm on the turret picking off the enemies at a safe distance.
Better yet, some sort of simple command system like in Star Wars Republic Commando like "Engage hostiles on that side". In Reach, I thought it would be nice if your Spartan allies weren't invincible-they could get downed now and then and you could revive them-make you feel like you were a team and that you didn't leave anyone behind (although this would annoy people if Ju- I mean the AI were useless and kept dying).
They were going to do that, but then they scrapped it.
Basically, everybody has nailed it.
A good campaign with lots of allied AI vs enemy AI.
Vehicle combat.
Everything Halo has ever had combined into one, and multiplied by 4
You mean by 7. How about AIs that help you and take out enemies, but how good and useful they are, depends on how much you kill, shoot, move up, and overall how well you play, and how much you contribute. So it could work like how many of your shots hit in a certain time frame and how many you kill in that time frame. And how much progress you make will add a bonus?

Be nice to get a better campaign that has replayability value. I believe developers these days are too focused on getting people to buy and play their game for the next 10 years, so they put too much into multiplayer, skipping out on the single player. Of course, multiplayer's vital to a game's earnings, but when it short- shrifts the campaign and single player to the extent that no one wants to play it more than once or twice maybe for the achievements, we have a problem.
Just a simple example: I bought Crysis 2 and have been playing that recently. Crytek did a great job with the graphics, story, and variability of that campaign, but has so far refused to pay attention to the bugs. In the campaign there is a similar credit system, but those credits are often erased or glitched. They haven't fixed that, they're just too worked up over selling the multiplayer.
I honestly was forced to motivate myself just to get through Tip of the Spear and The Package. For me there was no fun in those missions, barely any variability in how to play through. It was quite literally 'get here, kill those guys, do this, go there, kill those guys, hit switch, watch cutscene.' I would like to see a more developed story with deeper characters and more variables in the campaign. Admit it, Reach's campaign was half- assed. Hopefully 343 is willing to start new, improve on the existing benefits and fix the problems. Thanks.
Yeah. Remember some maps on Halo 3, Like "The Covenant" and the last level? Those were so damn fun and had a lot of replay value. Most of Halo 2's campaign had a lot of replay value too.
We need something fun, epic, memorable, and well plotted, while packing a punch that makes us want to sleep over a friend's house and stay up all night, just to beat it. While making us actually accomplish something, while making us feel like we accomplished something. With all the amounts of glitches, easter eggs, and fun that was in all the Halos (except Reach).
But a huge amount needs to go into the Multiplayer experience. Something huge, revolutionary, and fun! Like what Halo 2 did to Xbox Live. They are really going to need to pack so much into this and not water it down. They may need to make multiple disks. Not just our MM experience, but our Forge, FF, and Theater experience.

-Special armor for doing certain things? Like playing Halo 2 or 3 or things? Like how we normally got our nameplates? Or how about having contests and have armor already put in for those contests.
