They're already sold out?!

This is worse than Capcom! And I thought Capcom fans were ravenous!

They're ravenous, but we're fanatics ;)
Hell no, nothing can compare to Capcom fans, besides Disney fans. They will buy absolutely almost anything with a special title on it.

Bungies twitter says they will be replenish the stock of swag bags but that they'll go quickly

What time did they go up for sale exactly? I was in the grocery store and checked the site on my phone, and BOOM. I saw it.

Thankfully I could work my way through Amazon on my crappy phone because they probably would have been gone before I could get home.

Yay!

Good news for some!

Thanks Bungie!

Someone who has a twitter can you ask when they are going to restock? because if its not today i'd rather not spend all day clicking refresh every 10 minutes haha

  • 06.23.2011 11:45 AM PDT

no offense to those that missed out, but I hope they don't make many more. It's counter-productive to having something be "limited" and "special".

As soon as I heard they were going to have them for sale I checked in daily, and then steadily today.

They said keep an eye out for it. I'm sure they aren't going to directly tell us when they will restock it.

This. You people gunning for more bags need to be F5 warriors right now, lest you all find yourself complaining about how you didn't get some "fair" warning that stuff was going up.

Except that even if they sold 2000 bags, it would still be considered limited and special given the amount of people that want to get them.

This.

Velvet's post is a classic example of someone wanting something that they possess (or are qualified to acquire) to be exclusive, nothing we haven't seen before with armor perms and nameplates. :-)

I could have bought 3 or 4, but personally, I would have felt like a dick if I had...

I'm going to be more than content with just one :)

No, it's a classic example of economics. The more abundant it is, the less valuable and significant it becomes.

I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just stating how I feel about it. If I didn't get one I'd definitely be hoping for bungie to release more, and I'd be an F5 warrior.

Well then we've also got ourselves a classic lesson in materiality, as the 1,500 difference is irrelevant in a community numbering several million. :-)

EDIT: To Velvet's credit, he's very self-aware and honest. haha

So are you buying for the resale value? I doubt the people who would buy the extra runs would be buying these to resell..instead they would be buying to have them for great halo memories. And 2000 is a tiny stamp of the halo community

They didn't elaborate much on the charity. Were there any more details about this? Just curious.

I suppose you're right Righteous Tyrant. Frankly, just as long as my swag is good, I'll be happy. I just don't want to end up with a t-shirt in each of my 3 bags and a bumper sticker. I want some nice, unique, things.
Also, all of my money is going to some kid so he can get a nice little iPad - that in itself is awesome, and I suppose we all have Bungie to thank for that, for being incredibly selfless, generous, and compassionate.

I -blam!- love bungie man.

Anyone whining about not getting one needs to take a reality check. I spent about 5 hours today hitting F5 and for my trouble I was able to secure 4 bags, I also had to stump up the crazy $70 shipping to the UK.

You guys just didn't want it enough. :)

At first, I had planned to stay up until 3AM bungie time, because that's when the challenges restart, and technically, that's when a new "Halo day" begins. After not seeing any pop-up or special playlist in Halo Reach, I came to the forums. Browsed around for a bit, and checked the bungie store periodically.

I noticed 20th Anniversary items, made the thread, stayed up another like 5 hours, went to the store to buy 5 hour energy shots, F5ed like a boss, and was finally able to snag 4 bags and 2 posters. I gave up my mental functionality for these bags and posters.

In the process, I made, what I believe to be, a kick-ass OP, I met a lot of cool people, and me and my F5 bros ALL got what we wanted. They [the bags] were up for at least an hour after they were first posted.

We all knew the festivities started on the 23rd, and if you were hardcore enough about bungie, you would have stayed sleepless like me.

I was referring to the checkout process and in a quick look around the store. I'm not on bungie.net much, so thank you for providing the info.

Cool!
