Someone ordered 25. The thought alone makes me sick to my stomach being someone who didn't get one.

He was lying.

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

An update on the status of the bags would be really appreciated right now.

Really?! When was this proved? Link?

Make choices, and don't look back.

It wasn't proved, it's just an educated guess. The guy who said he did, complained about his swag bag not coming in. And realistically, who would spend $1000 without the intent on reselling?

Okay, with the exception of guys like Komark who honestly bought multiples for someone other than themselves, and maybe someone with multiple kids who are HALO fans, that's BS.

You're that desperate to get the golden bag your gonna take almost a 30th of 'em off the market, keep what you want and turn the others around for a profit?

Yeah, yeah, I know the money all went to charity, which is great, but that's about as fair as cheating at a charity poker tournament. Sure the money goes to a good cause still, but your still screwing someone else over during the game.

Just a thought... If Bungie sent you a second swag bag by accident, and you kept it, would it be stealing? And if you put that bag up for sale on ebay, would you burn for eternity in limbo?

Stealing, quite possiblly, both in the minds of your fellow Bungie fans, esp. those who didn't even get one and in the eyes of the law; I don't know for sure but getting a citation from your local PD or the Feds over something like this would be pretty damn pathetic.

eBay rebounding, maybe not brimstone and hellfire perse', but it would be a pretty douchey move. You can expect to be called everything but a pleasant fellow for doing it.

Seriously guys, for the sake of those on pins, needles, edges of seats, futons or other random things to be on, waiting and hoping their orders get shipped, if you get something you KNOW isn't yours, be the bigger man/woman, don't take anything out (hell don't even open it), and send it back. Don't seize your good fortune at the expense of someone else getting screwed over. Sure it's not your fault Bungie/Amazon sent it to you, but you'd be just as much of an ass if you keep it.

On a lighter note, how many cases of them sending extra bags are there? I mean, there are a limited number of these things and I can't imagine somebody ordering more than five; how hard could this be?

If it is who I think it is he changed the amount he said he ordered in every post he made.

its peoples property that they paid for. swag bags are not national treasures. they can sell it if they want.

No, they are not national treasures but they still took the chance of other people getting one away from them. Only to sell them.

wait, is that what this is about?

someone bought one and sold it for their own selfish greed while people who "REALLY" wanted one didnt get one? and now those people have to decide whether they want to buy one at nearly triple the price?

that's silly.

How is being a greedy d*** silly? When I buy something I buy it because it has value for me, or to give to someone else because it has value to them, not becuase I think I can turn around and gouge someone and make a profit because it's a limited item.

Such is life. by the way.

this sort of thing happens all the time with limited items.

no, you're screwing the CHANCE for winning something during the game. for your analogy on the swagbags, nobody lost anything monetarily in real life, but maybe in your charity poker tourney. or you had a bad analogy.

pretty much if you didn't get a bag, you didn't lose monetarily.

it isnt silly to be greedy or selfish. the REASON behind the people in this thread being upset is what is truly silly. this sort of thing happens all the time. think back to when our ancestors took over this country, we traded "rare" and "precious" beads for land from the native americans. it's bartering. its trading. its knowing what you have and getting rid of it to make your life more comfortable.

people find sentimental value in the weirdest things.

pets, pins, stuffed toys, letters, collections of some sort.

but it's like the old saying goes, Another mans trash, is another mans treasure. amirite?

So these people being in a public forum discussing their opinion on the relevant subject, even if it's to express their anger and disapointment at getting screwed over for a chance at winning one, is silly?

I'm confused...

And so, because some greedy ass****s did it before, and it happens all the time anyway, that makes doing it in this instance OK...

Now I'm more confused...

And yes, it was probably just a bad analogy. Point is, in my humble opinion, unless you had a viable reason, if you're a decent person, for the sake of fairness and playing well with others, you really should have only ordered one and taken one shot at the jackpot and given others a chance. It may be naive, but that's still how I feel.

is this not what im doing too?

now you're just being naive on purpose to try and prove a point.

the things that you're saying, never left my brain to travel to my fingertips to express it on this forum.

All im saying is that this sort of thing happens ALL the time. and its never ok but its also never bad either. its just life.

like the prankster.. you remember im sure, who stood in line to buy a ps3 and an xbox360 only to smash it in the faces of all those who were also standing in line for days to get one?

its sort of like that right? people do it to do it. people sell things to make a profit because what they own has no value to them, and even though the prices may not be fair, it gives someone else the chance to buy it if they really want it? right? the only exception now is that the price is considerably higher.

so whoever didnt get a swag bag because they had work, or had to wait for their parents because they're not old enough to own credit or debit cards now has a chance to buy one for themselves if they have the cash to pay for it.

i understand what you're saying, and i understand you're trying to stick up for the little guy. but this is a fight no one can ever win, except in the movies.

One thing though. People are buying multiple bags to take what they WANT then to RESELL it at a high price . People wouldn't have a problem if it was just resale, and nothing was taken out of the bag. What ticks people off is that sellers lie about the product being new and unopened, and the buyers have no way prove it was a used product. So basically, if you buy this product from anyone but Bungie, you have around a 95+% chance of being ripped off and lied to.

This will undoubtedly happen. It would be best to avoid such purchases.

Mine *still* hasn't shipped. Ordered on the 30th.

I live in friggin Washington, tempted to just go to Bungie and pick it up myself.

your a fool in general if you get ripped off on ebay. be a smart buyer, and heck be a smart seller. lets just say *wink wink* that im selling swag bags. i atleast would state in the description, "opened to show/count the amount of items present. you get item 1,2,3.... then you would state you reason for the price point you set."

the pricepoint in my case would be $50 (the average cost of 1 swag bag) + (any rare items or items worth more than $30, current selling point * 33%[resale value]). so a $50 bag with a rare item, for example (also seen in previous swag bag pics), a limited halo 3 comicon mastercheif active camo action figure (currently priced at $200) would all sell for $126+shipping.

all in all, be smart on what you buy. amirite?

Fail quote

Well what you would do isn't what the current ebay sellers are doing. They aren't taking any other picture than the bag's outside.
