If you can't trust yourself, then don't trust anyone.

USPS tracking for my swag bag didn't update at all yesterday :/. But I know it should have made progress, so I hope its in Ohio.

Walk softly, and carry a big midget.

I'm not sure if anyone has answered my question so I'll ask again. Has anyone from the UK gotten thier bag yet? If so when?

Yes joshboy did.

When we were talking about the pen I don't think we were trying to put a price on it, I believe we were just discussing how some people would find the pen more valuable because of the sentimental value, but on the other hand other people will find my cortana figure worth more because of the price of it.

I really don't understand the logic in that because the only people that would buy the cortana figure are halo fans, collectors, or people that want to resell things. The people who would want to buy the pen are the same exact people. The action figure was mass produced and lots of people know it exists(meaning more people know about the cortana figure than the pen), so there's going to be a estimated value due to previous sales.

On the other hand, The pens were never mass produced, never given to people outside of the bungie studio(until now, unless a employee gave it to a friend),none have been sold to the public(like ebay)as far as I'm aware, and lots of people don't know about them. So, if you have proof it's one of the 50 pens and a webpage showing proof bungie were given these pens then you can sell it to fans, collectors, or some person that resells things.

Now think about this, fans would be willing to pay a couple hundred dollars for a cortana figure that was mass produced. Why wouldn't they also be willing to pay several hundred dollars for a custom made pen that bungie employee/s used and there's only 50 of those in the world. I mean people spent thousands on concept art, I'm sure those same people would be willing to burn money on a super rare pen.

  • 07.17.2011 7:06 AM PDT

that's very true.

  • 07.17.2011 7:12 AM PDT

Does anyone have any idea when they are going to take the 'I need a weapon' poster and the poster that has loads of bungie stuff on it off of sale?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

What I have been noticing about the swag bags is the sentimental value is > actual value.

I mean, if you are a huge Bungie fan, you will get good stuff.

I am learning everything Bungie has put into the bags has a story. Of course, we will never know that stroy, it is a mystery.

Like, who used some of the stuff in my swag bag, my pen, etc? I won't know but the cool part is knowing it was used.

My point is the stuff they give us has been many personal items that should be a treasure for us to receive and every bag I have seen is worth way more than $30.00.

I don't think every bag is way more than $30. Take mine for example.

Halo Graphic Novel = $3.49
Lone Wolves Pack 2 = $12.88
Helmet 3 Pack Set 4 = $4.99
Halo shirt = No sale value, but I know it cost less than $8.64 to make. Probably like $5 at most to make.
20th Anniversary Card = less than 25 cents
Oni Sticker = less than 25 cents

Estimated max price of stuff in bag. $26.68

But, it is the sentimental value of the bags that is worth way more than $30.00.

It was the reason I bought my bag, for the cool Bungie swag, regardless for how much it was worth.

Many people got some quite good stuff but every bag is special.

Sentimental value is completely different from market value. Sentimental value is compeletly subjective to each person. Market value, mine bag is less than $30 and we were promised that it would be at least that. I'm just saying that every bag is not way more than $30.

The sentimental value of the Oni sticker could be $1.00 for me and could be $1 million dollars for someone else.

And special is completely subjective as well. I would consider my bag not to be that special.

Sentimental value for me of the overall bag would be about $25 dollars as well.

$20 for the shirt and $5 for the Oni sticker.

In bulk of more than 777 bags, probably less than 50 cents each. And that's maximum. That's beside the point. We were promised that the swag in the bag would be more than $30.

I'm not ungrateful. I enjoy my shirt (thank God it fit) and the Oni sticker. Spartain said that every bag was way more than $30. Not true.

I would argue that my bag was less than $30, and yes we were promised that every bag was more than $30.

You value the Graphic Novel at $3.49, but over here in the UK, I'd find it very difficult to get hold of one of them new for any less than £18 in a shop, which roughly translates to about $29. Granted, the value on the net is going to be different, but I'd be VERY happy to get your bag, and not even for the sentimentality.

The Models tend to go for about £8, sometimes more, which converts to about $13.

All in all, your bag is worth much more than you say, it just depends on how you sell it, and who you sell it to.

I would disagree, people are paying hundreds of dollars for swag bags on ebay.

That are filled with "low ticket" items as you say.

Each bag calculates to at or above $30.00

Don't forget that the profits went to charity.

An aunction is all about sentimental value. If that person believes that the bag is worth more than $100 that is that persons sentimental value of the bag.

I never lost sight that the bag went to charity either. I'm not ungrateful, I appreciate my bag and the stuff I did get. I just feel as if I got kind of short handed.

Back to my original point (since this is quickly diverging about how I don't care about charity, I'm ungrateful, I dont appreciate the stuff I got), not every bag (at market value not sentimental) is worth way more than $30.

You bag is worth more than $30.00.

But I mean you got some neat things.

I would be excited.

Have you seen my bag?

I got a hoodie, a rare Halo 3 pen, and stickers.

I am excited becuase I have a pen an employee used, the rare ONI stickers, and a nice hoodie.

I am happy.

You're still missing the point though dude, Bungie didn't do this to make money for themselves. They threw together a bunch of stuff and sold it for charity. The people who bought those bags should have known it was a lottery of sorts to see if they get anything special.

Haggling over the price of these things is ridiculous.

I got some sheet music and I put pics up. Have you seen them? I would kill for someone to play the "Prophets" and "Halo Sunrise" songs because I havent heard them on any of the soundtracks.
