What I have been noticing about the swag bags is the sentimental value is > actual value.

I mean, if you are a huge Bungie fan, you will get good stuff.

I am learning everything Bungie has put into the bags has a story. Of course, we will never know that stroy, it is a mystery.

Like, who used some of the stuff in my swag bag, my pen, etc? I won't know but the cool part is knowing it was used.

My point is the stuff they give us has been many personal items that should be a treasure for us to receive and every bag I have seen is worth way more than $30.00.

Couldn't agree more.

Well looking through the post was too hard but here's some info I found on the pens through google, Wolfiez gave the jerky.

P.S. There was only 50 pens made, so you got something more rare than these Swag Bags. Lucky you, too bad you didn't get the fan fiction that came along with it.

Even more glad I got one of these now!!

I'm a music major at a university in the Southeast US, and I would seriously kill for the sheet music some people have gotten. So. Jealous.

I got some sheet music and I put pics up. Have you seen them? I would kill for someone to play the "Prophets" and "Halo Sunrise" songs because I havent heard them on any of the soundtracks.

Where did you put the pics up?

Yea, I went back to find the link. Makes me even more happy about my Swag!

On a different note, I can't believe anyone would actually pay for one of these Bungie Swag bags on ebay without knowing whats in it or what was taken out.

It disgusts me that people are selling these for profit. Even if I had managed to buy a second one I would have kept it.

I don't think every bag is way more than $30. Take mine for example.

Halo Graphic Novel = $3.49
Lone Wolves Pack 2 = $12.88
Helmet 3 Pack Set 4 = $4.99
Halo shirt = No sale value, but I know it cost less than $8.64 to make. Probably like $5 at most to make.
20th Anniversary Card = less than 25 cents
Oni Sticker = less than 25 cents

Estimated max price of stuff in bag. $26.68

Halo graphic novel - $25 (look on the book it has that price on the back cover)
Lone wolves pack 2 - $15
Helmet 3 pack set 4 - $13
Halo shirt - $10-$15

Sorry you can't go off of current prices for your stuff, you have to go off full out retail. You got more then $30.

  • 07.17.2011 9:35 AM PDT

If you can't trust yourself, then don't trust anyone.

GAHHHH! damn USPS tracking sucks, Still hasn't updated at all! I hope for it when does update, it will say it arrived at my local post office. :/

what he means is.. what he got.. is common... and if he had 26 dollars... he can replace everything in his swag bag.

i understand what he means.. and i agree with him. i became disgusted when 10+ people got the same exact bag with the same exact oni photocopy sketches.

regardless of what the retail price may be.

sigh.. i dont know man.. ive become so upset with people and their bags.

i think the expired company credit cards.. and the jet ski receipt takes the cake... you know whatyou do with old CC's? you cut them.. and throw them away.. thats not swag.

a used office pen? c'mon bungie.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

That is why I <3 the pen.

It was used by a Bungie employee, custom made set of 50 pens that once were only given to Bungie employees.

It is more than just a pen.

LOL ok ok ok.. you're justifying receiving a pen. that's cute.

you're right, it might have been used to draw or sign something important.

I got the pen as a wave 1 bag.

Look at my wave one bag:
Pic 1
Graphic Novel
Magical Pen of Mystery
Coozy XXL hoodie

I <3 my bag and I got relativity in-expensive items considering what I have seen from the other bags.

But, I still am so excited for what I received.

I just got back from vacation and my swag bag was waiting for me. I bought mine on the 30th around 4pm which was after the gorilla bags.

My Swag Bag --> http://i.imgur.com/9QkDM.jpg
- "I Made That" Halo series t-shirt (XXL).
- Halo 3 (Series 1) Jackal Sniper action figure.
- Halo 3 (Vehicle, Series 1) Ghost.
- Bungie MAC Action Sack CD-Rom (includes 6 games).
- Splatter sticker

My bag isn't numbered. The only tag on it is a "Augusta Sportswear" tag which is the same tag shown in one of Haywire Hunter's pic in his swag album.

Thank you Bungie! The mystery of what was inside the bag was super fun! I'm glad I was able to get one. The bag itself is really cool! I may stuff it and make a pillow for my video game couch.

I certainly agree with I3elmont, but I also have to agree with spartain ken. Both have a point - spartain ken is definitely right when he said that a lot of the swag is priceless, not only in terms of the rarity but also the potential memories and experiences connected with the items that make them invaluable.
However, I3elmont is also correct in that the most recent 2nd and 3rd wave bags have common items that can almost all be bought, and that the frustration that some are feeling are righteous to some extent. But nonetheless, we should all be thankful we managed to snag a Bag O' Swag in the first place. What do you guys think?

I think this was to be expected.

Bungie intended to make 500 bags of swag but someone now had to fill 277 more bags.

I think they where running out of swag.

I think it would of been better if they didn't make 777 bags becuase like you said they kept running out of stuff.

Spartain Ken - Agreed.
On another note, now that we've seen so much never-seen-before swag, what, in your opinion, are the rarest Bungie collectibles to date? (that are possible to obtain - that rules out the Bible :D)

You're still missing the point though dude, Bungie didn't do this to make money for themselves. They threw together a bunch of stuff and sold it for charity. The people who bought those bags should have known it was a lottery of sorts to see if they get anything special.

Haggling over the price of these things is ridiculous.
You are still completely missing my point. The point is that not every bag is worth way over $30.

Spartain Ken said something along the lines of: "Every bag I've seen has been way over the price of $30".

My argument: "No, not every bag has been way of the price $30. Here's my bag with today's retail value. Item, item, item, price etc. (in today's retail price)"

Your argument: "Bungie did this for charity. It was a lottery, you should of expected to get something like that".

...?

Everything you are saying is true, but it has nothing to do with what I'm saying. I'm just clearly stating, that my bag in today's retail value isn't not way over $30, not to mention that there are other bags that are not over $30.

I'm not sure if anyone has answered my question so I'll ask again. Has anyone from the UK gotten thier bag yet? If so when?

I live in England and I ordered a wave 1 bag and it arrived last Tuesday.

Hmmm. Well, I'm in Wales and I ordered mine from the first wave. It says the estimated Delivery date is from June 18th (Tomorrow) to the 5th of August. I've either been screwed over or you got yours early.

I'll cry If I don't get mine.

this and do you think the MAC action sack will work on windows? I'm wondering in case I get it because I don't have a Mac. They're too expensive.

I don't know if it will even work on modern day macs, Usually you have to have a mac 9OS or below to run the classic Bungie games, and you can get those for fairly cheap(the Macintosh that is)

How do you know they never planned to make 777 bags to begin with? Oh wait, you don't. The reason they said they were asking people to donate items for the bags was because they didn't anticipate how fast they would sell, they thought they had more time to work on the bags.
