What's funny is that people fail to realize that Bungie didn't have to do any of this for anyone. They could've remade some obscure map for Reach and called it a day. The fact that they're going through all of this trouble, and not actually see any profits from it, on top of dealing with butthurt kids who feel entitled, is pretty amazing.
I don't have to go pick up a friend who needs a ride, but when I say I will I'm expected to show up on time. What Bungie did is the equivalent of showing up 2 hours late with a car that barely runs.
Except if you told your friend, 'I'll be there around 10', and don't show up until later, he doesn't have the right to be pissed off. You said 'around 10', something could've come up that you had to take care of, etc.
Everyone decided to ignore the fact that Bungie NEVER said 10 AM PST on the dot, and mass-F5ed the Bungie Store into derping. It affected the process on the Amazon end, which they were trying to fix, except everyone kept F5ing despite being asked not to.
I really don't see why everyone is blaming Bungie. Because they didn't anticipate this? Who are we to say that they didn't, and whatever they had planned for it didn't work? We're not, because we don't know any better. Like I said before, everyone is feeling entitled, with no justification for it. Grow up.
That, and they're in denial. It's a LIMITED item. 777 for the 100,000 people that want them. Know what that means? Not everyone is going to get one, no matter how many times they press F5, no matter how many servers they crash, and no matter how much they complain. This was explained from the beginning.
Yeah, it sucks if you didn't get one. But that's how stuff like this works. I've seen a few people say that Bungie didn't even have to do any of this for us, which is absolutely true. But they did, because they love their Community. And they sure don't deserve all the hate we're sending them right now.
