Hmm looks like i might have missed my chance at a bag, but shoot they got some cool t-shirts and that poster pack thing... Looks like I might just go off and get something else ><

-Diz
that's the spirit!

:D Was my original plan, been around Bungie since what 2004 or 2005... I bought some cool stuff back in the day before the store disappeared... I am glad they got a store again and I can buy more stuff from them. I can make my t-shirt collection grow larger... what with all the WoW shirts and other game related shirts I have... haha :D

I think people are forgetting that this was all for charity...

I feel for those who weren't able to get a bag, but look on the bright side: over 700 bags are going to be sold if they haven't been already. At $30.00 a pop (not counting shipping into it, obviously).

That's $21,000.00 for charity. That's freaking amazing, and just be happy that you took part in the whole process.

NOBODY GIVES A FLYING FART ABOUT THE CHARITY!

I hate to be a -blam!- , but I agree: I was not doing this for charity.

I was doing it because I appreciate Bungie and all they have done, and will continue to do so.

I was trying because I, like so many others, have supported bungie ever since we knew of them, and will contiue to do so.

I was trying, because, like everybody else, I wanted one, and still do.

I'm assuming Bungie is in a Damage control meeting right now.

All we can hope is that this will have a like outcome of the reach betas.

I was lucky enough to catch a code then.

Subject: *Official* Swag Central [FAQ + Post Pics HERE!]

Dear Bungie, my birthday was June 24th, the same day you started selling the Bag O' Swag. Therefore I deserve one. Not good enough? Okay...

I was playing the demos of Pathways into Darkness and Marathon on my Quadra 650 back when I was 8 or 9. I even remember watching the gameplay trailer for Myth. This was all off of an old SyQuest EZ 135 MB drive. Remember those? Still nothing?

I played that forgotten game Damage Incorporated. While not a Bungie game, it used the Marathon 2 engine.

Oni is my most favorite game to this day despite its flaws. No?

I play Halo. A lot. Like everybody else?

...Have my babies?

But seriously, I would totally kill for that Myth box set though. I still got my old skool Macs to play it on.

Post more pics, peeps so that we all can be more jelly. I am actually curious what else people got though.

One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
One ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie

Um. I've been checking this all day and not on the forums. Can anyone explain to me what's happening?

What's funny is that people fail to realize that Bungie didn't have to do any of this for anyone. They could've remade some obscure map for Reach and called it a day. The fact that they're going through all of this trouble, and not actually see any profits from it, on top of dealing with butthurt kids who feel entitled, is pretty amazing.

I don't have to go pick up a friend who needs a ride, but when I say I will I'm expected to show up on time. What Bungie did is the equivalent of showing up 2 hours late with a car that barely runs.

Except if you told your friend, 'I'll be there around 10', and don't show up until later, he doesn't have the right to be pissed off. You said 'around 10', something could've come up that you had to take care of, etc.

Everyone decided to ignore the fact that Bungie NEVER said 10 AM PST on the dot, and mass-F5ed the Bungie Store into derping. It affected the process on the Amazon end, which they were trying to fix, except everyone kept F5ing despite being asked not to.

I really don't see why everyone is blaming Bungie. Because they didn't anticipate this? Who are we to say that they didn't, and whatever they had planned for it didn't work? We're not, because we don't know any better. Like I said before, everyone is feeling entitled, with no justification for it. Grow up.

I have a hard time believing you'd be so understanding had you not gotten TWO! Most of us didn't get one, been watching it since well before the time they said and and then 2 and a half hours later nothing changed, we have a right to be a little upset, and you have no right to be all high and mighty, telling us to be understanding when you got TWO!

I would still be understanding if I wasn't able to get 2. You know why? Because I'm not an immature little kid who thinks that because Bungie 'promised' us something, they're entitled to get it. I've been watching the store since 9 AM EST, I waited patiently for it to be available, I bought 2 swag bags. If you missed out, I'm sorry you missed it. If you missed out and proceeded to rage all over the forums that Bungie screwed you and that you're never playing Reach again and that you're going to Call of Duty, and that Bungie is stupid because they should've know that the site was going to crash because they should've know that no one would listen to them when they asked everyone to stop F5ing, well, you are an idiot with the intelligence level of a brick.

Bungie did not have to offer anything to us at all. End of story. I'm truly sorry that people missed out on the bags, I really am. But in the end, the only difference between those who got one and those who didn't comes down to who was faster.

Everyone should try and relax. Yes, it is a shame that something bad befell the bag 'o swag sales but, being that it was a limited item with high demand, people were bound to be unlucky. Could have it been handled better? I'm not one to say. The only thing I do know is that this company is amazing about doing things for their fans.

So, the best thing to remember now is that Bungie is a company hell bent on satisfying their community. And even though the bags o' swag may be gone, it doesn't mean that more fun things aren't on the way.

Following today's announcement of aerospace, we still have more inbound including a ViDoc and a Bungie Vs. The World matchmaking celebration. And, who knows, maybe something else is in the pipeline.

I understand how upset some of you are and even why some of you are disappointed/disgruntled, but I urge you to at least try and reconcile with the knowledge that other cool things are coming up (other cool thing are for sale too(with perhaps more in the works?)!) and that Bungie hasn't forgotten their fans. In fact, these few weeks are a celebration for the fans.
And this is EXACTLY how Bungie Day 2011 should be remembered as.

What we did this Bungie Day was amazing, we gave many, many children iPads, and who knows, maybe even more.

Yeah a lot of us have jobs too. I'm currently on 2 hours of sleep and have to be at work in 2 in half hours.
Funny how you say F5ers living in their basements. Do you not live with your parents and brother? We're you not on here trying to get a Bag O'Swag?
You have no idea how long how many of the 777 people are Halo 3 era or not. Stop whining about it.
Aside from the fact I live in my bedroom, and pay rent, so it's not quite the same now, is it? Regardless, I accept that I'm moaning about it, but look at it from my perspective and you'll at least see why I'm disgruntled.

Revan, you're right, Bungie have done a LOT for their fanbase, and I'm sure Bungie Day will be yet another flurry of awesome treats and opportunities to meet the team in-game, but after my bid on the auctions was well and truly out-matched, the Bag o' Swag was the last chance I had at getting something totally awesome. I have no room for posters, and the shirts aren't all that special if you're the only one who knows what the meaning behind it is. Having a Bungie duffel bag and some sweet swag like the soundtrack and other such items, would be so much more of a treat.

Oh well. At least I have my AJ article which I could always frame and put on my wall where the PoA concept art would have been.

XD

I know this isn't exactly related to the bags, but I hope Bungie restocks the medium sized "Burn Bright Burn Blue" shirts sometime soon. I've been trying to get one for over a week now, but no luck. I figured I've have a better chance of getting one of those versus these impossible-to-get bags. :/

  • 06.30.2011 1:29 PM PDT

If you can't trust yourself, then don't trust anyone.

I only ordered one swag bag, i went onto my email and i couldn't find a confirmation email, but the status of my order is "Shipping soon" and they already took the money out of my debit card. So am i good to go?

  • 06.30.2011 1:29 PM PDT

Sorry for the possibly blatant re-post...

Spent this entire day trying to get a bag off of the original link. I honestly thought that everyone saying they got one from Gorilla Print or whatever was just trolling. I'm pissed, I'm upset, angry, etc. but I'm not going to take it out on anyone.
Could someone just link me to where a Bungie Official validated the "Bag Of Swag" page to set my mind at ease?

After almost 2 in a half hours of trying to buy a bag from the Gorilla seller (aka bungie) im deciding to call it quits....

Sucks that I tried all that time yet people who show up in between randomly get one later...

This is why I never order things from Amazon. The website sucks a big waddle of hoochy

Exactly. I -blam!- proud to have taken part in a Bungie charity effort yet again. I love the fact that Bungie does so much to help people, and seeing as how much I love Bungie as a company and love their games (been a loyal fan since 2001) I love the chance that they give us to help give back to those in need.

Even if I didn't get a bag (I never get this lucky with anything, it's a freaking miracle as far as I'm concerned) I would have been proud anyway to take part in the whole thing. We -blam!- raised over $20,000 for children. Sit back and actually think about that for a second. That is incredible.

And that's not taking into account how much more money Bungie has been raising with the sale of other Bungie Store products. I fully intend to buy more t-shirts to help support their cause (and cus the shirts are just plain cool...lol).

I'm proud to be a part of Bungie's community, and I think everyone else should be as well.

Today, bungie showed a blatant disregard for its fans and community. I could care less if this was for charity or for profit (i don't believe in charity andyway) and I'm utterly disgusted at bungie if they think what they did today was ok.

It is aside from the fact, period.
I understand why your disgruntled, i understand why a lot of people are disgruntled. But who wouldn't be upset if they didn't get one even if things did go smoother than they went.

I love Halo, I have played it since the beginning, even though I may not have had Xbox Live back then. Marathon is also a pretty good game. I have been here on Bungie.net longer but got a new account and I am looking forward to Bungie's next game. My old account got hacked.

Thank You Bungie! For the best games and Recon Armor. Also thanks for the early access to the Halo: Reach Beta!

Congrats to everyone who managed to get a swag bag.
