Well i'm wondering if it would be more useful to put money towards getting a cure or making them happy while they're there.

I agree with you on this. However, Since they are a game development company and are working with publishing independent games for companies on systems such as an ipad I think it makes perfect sense for them to do this.

Well honestly I wish more could be given, ipads to me just don't feel like enough, but I do agree on making them happy.

I guess it does make sense, but the games bungie will help develop are most likely not going to be kid games. I just hope that buying the kids ipads is the best choice.

Wrong mindset. You're making a $42 donation to charity. You should already feel good at that point. Then, Bungie decides to send you swag for free. Pretty sweet deal in my eyes.

Usually being charitable means receiving nothing in return. Then I this scenario, the question arises, are you truly being charitable or are you purchasing something you want while pretending to be charitable?

I don't have your brain, but I don't like to get when I give. If I wanted to feel really good about chairty, I would have purchased the iPads myself, visited the children myself, gotten to know them and so on. Honestly, it seems Bungie outlined their intention as such: "We got some nice commemorative swag for you guys, and guess what? The bread on the butter is that all profits don't go to our pockets, but rather charity."

I understand your point, but please don't try to make me look like some selfish bad guy.

You aren't being selfish. We just can't forget that everything is for charity. I wonder if bungie will ever take pics/videos of the kids. I'd like to see their reaction, and if they're happy then i'll feel like I donated to a good cause.

Lots of kids are there for incurable things like transplants, cancer, and lots of other things that make their lives very miserable. Some of them can't go home at all because they need to be hooked up to a machine or they would die. Things like Ipads and game systems allow them to get through the process easier.

I guess that'd be me too. I mean how many people would be fine if bungie said "sorry you aren't getting your bag, but we are going to keep the money for charity because we know how much of a good person you are"

  • 07.15.2011 5:04 PM PDT

Only if we had nanorobots, practically cures anything. Well someday a cure will be found and I guess the best we can do right now is to make these kids happy. I watched a movie not too long ago called "Extraordinary Measures" and every penny helped find a cure for the kids. I'm just hoping the money is going where it will have the biggest impact.

Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by the accidents of time, or place, or circumstances, are brought into closer connection with you.

I hate to be a combo breaker, but has anyone who ordered a gorilla bag, not received an updated shipping status. Mine still says Shipping Soon.

A lot of gorilla bags are being shipped, but they're shipping them through next week, so you should be good.

Do you have any confirmation from Urk or something. Not to sound like a jerk, but I have been waiting for a good 15 days for the Bag and I'm getting extremely anxious about the contents of the swag...

Bungie is done for the weekend I'm assuming. My gorilla bags still say "shipping soon"

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

People got so much cool swag, I Jelly >:D.

I keep seeing more and more concept art images.

Bungie is running out of stuff for the bags, but you don't have to worry about receiving a bag until after next week. If you get lucky you will receive some employees personal stuff, though we've seen none. All I can say is we are gonna have to wait and not to cancel your bag because if you receive one it is going to be worth $30 minimum. So, don't worry about not getting what you paid for.

We will still be shipping into next week.

He's the contract employee that confirmed the Gorilla Screen Printing bags were legit too.

Edit: LOL. Beaten to the punch!

This one guy got environmental art, it's amazing. I'm wondering where elite, brute, and marine concept art is. I'm hoping they were put in the bags. Also, is all of the art prints/ originals because people said different things. I think they are originals.

I love Yvonne
And so should you

My bag was shipped out yesterday but the shirt still hasn't and I ordered that a week before the bag -_-

Anyway, the bags estimated for the 25th of August.

I hate international shipping.

Today was the last estimated day for shipping, but it still says 'ordered from Bungie store'.

Yes this happened to a bunch of people, me included. Bungie said that they'd be shipping through next week, so just wait.
