Tough choice... some really great maps. Ivory Tower was probably my favorite.

Imagine a triangle. It's perfect, but a little plain. You take a chisel, and carve a small decorative symbol into it to make it a little more interesting. People like it, but it could use a little more.

So you then take a sledgehammer..

If you didn't Play Halo: CE or Halo 2 MP, your opinion about Halo means nada.

CE + H2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>> H3+Reach+H4

Lockout or Midship

  • 06.24.2011 11:48 PM PDT

Midship, but honestly I think that all of those maps were great. Halo 2 had the best multi-player maps.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake.
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
And the Science gets done.
And you make a neat gun.
For the people who are still alive.

Lockout, it played well.

Got to agree, Midship was the best for 4v4 Team Slayer hands down.

You know, I've always said that Midship was the best, but honestly, they are all the best. Halo 2 has been good to me. For every awesome stick on Midship, I have an incredible kill to share on Lockout. Point being, I agree, but I feel as if singling out one favorite is an injustice to the others.

You're bolding everything now?

Sure, why not? It helps Ol' Grumpy see better ;)

  • 06.25.2011 5:21 AM PDT

All of them.

  • 06.25.2011 3:19 PM PDT

Halo 3: Lone Wolves - 44
Team Slayer - 38
Team Doubles - 46
Team Snipers - 25
MLG - 20
Team SWAT - 28
Halo: Reach: Brigadier Grade 2 - 73% Armory Completion

I'm a pretty big Ascension fan myself.

Lol, you don't have to do that for me, I can see the regular print fine but the italics just made my eyeballs scream. Thanks Commander, you're a good friend.

RIP Halo 2: November 9, 2004-May 10, 2010
I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

Lockout and midship are my favorites. But I definitely have the most memories on lockout... <3 LAN parties.

I had to go with Lockout but the only map on that list that I don't like is Ivory Tower. I kind of forgot how many awesome maps Halo 2 had because I haven't played it for a while.

You hate Ivory Tower, my favorite map ever? Why? This map was perfect for SWAT back in H2. Good Times.

Suck it Red!

What about foundation? I loved that map back in the day...

Very good my dear lad.

No, ExcessiveFaun6 is not my real gamertag.

Cortana: The message just repeats. "Regret, Regret, Regret."
Miranda: Any idea what it means?
Sgt. Johnson: Dear Humanity... we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!
Marines: Hoo-rah!

Haha I got a PM from a o0MrCheesy0o who is "bant from posting", requesting that I let you all know he liked Midship the best. So there you have it. His words:

Nothing beats that map for 4v4s. It was just epic. Lockout, whilst awesome, was too campy for 4v4s. It worked best in 2v2s and 1v1s, imo.

Yeah, to me, Halo 2 had the best MP map design. Granted, I also think Halo 2 had the best MP in general... it felt just more "solid". Faster paced, less mechanics - just point, shoot, grenade, and hide.

I agree 100%

although there were a fair amount of great Halo 3 maps.

To add to what I said earlier, I believe one of the biggest reasons Halo 2 was more "solid" was due to hit-scan weapons. Hit-scan weapons mean that the game doesn't "track" the bullet as a projectile flying through the air; it just checks to see if the target is in the would-be path of the bullet. In other words, if the reticule is red, it's a hit.

This is expounded on in this Bungie Weekly Update.

I've been trying to figure out for a while why Halo 2 felt that way, and I think that's it. Halo 3 added the distance dimension to the BR and sniper rifles, which just made shooting that much harder.
