Hopefully the full 500 wasn't on sale today

I hope this is the case. They're the ones who said explicitly that there would only be 500. Don't say it if it isn't true. To clarify I wish no one not to have it. I am only upset that they said a number they would have been better off just saying limited and be done with it.

You are the biggest whiner on this site. Seriously. You made basically the same thread for the star nameplates. Who cares how rare they are? Let everyone join in on the fun. And besides, the funds go to charity. The more bags sold, the more money the charities get. Ergo, more bags being sold is a good thing for everyone.

We're the Flintstones kids, ten million strong and growing...

Glass Galaxies - a theme for bungie.net

Per audacia ad astra. Halo Reach | Destiny

There were apparently about 200 left when they became 'out of stock'. I'm willing to bet that they sold about 300 to begin with, and are holding the remaining ones to be sold later.

Why does it matter if it's rare? The contents of some of the bags should be rare, not every bag, I want a bag of swag worth at least 35 dollars while taking a chance to get something rare while also donating to charity.

No, I just am saying that if you kept trying to force making the swag bag, supplies would run out fast.

How does that justify wanting it to be rare?

I agree, rare items in some of the bags is awesome. Just make them more rare by adding bags of swag with normal stuff in it.

It's alright, don't take my money and give it to charity... that's cool.

That's life for you. You can't always get what you want. Their have been plenty of times where this has happened to me.

That's not fair to people who couldn't be on Bnet for whatever reason. What if you were at work, and came home, went on Bnet to find that the Swag Bags are sold out, and won't be restocked?

The only reason you say that is because you got one.

It would be better if they limited it to one per person.
Impossible to implement.

SK15--my guess is that they have thus far only sold like 300 or 400 and have some extras to release later, for 500 total.

I am hoping this is true.

The Swag bag is not something you should be able to re-produce.

It should be rare.

I completely agree. I spent a while refreshing the store getting one of the illusive 500 bags. The bags were buyable in the store roughly 1 hour, so anyone that knows the grind of getting Bags of Crap for "other sites" knows this is more than enough time to claim your limited edition prize.

They underestimated the Power of the Swag.

/Twitter quote.

oh Okay -_-

There aren't going to be like 500 bags everyday, right?

Let the bag be rare.

easy to say that when you already have one

This isn't a competition or a job interview... it's a purchase of game content that goes to charity.

You people are ruthless and selfish. The more bags sold, the more rare the rare items are and the more money that goes to charity.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I am not trying to sound like a Jerk and I am happy Bungie is giving the money to charity, I am happy I helped.

I just think that if you try to make too many of an item like this, it will be hard to do and won't be as good if there was a limited amount.

I would be really mad if I didn't get a bag too but this is one of those things that required waiting.

I would like one, but statistically speaking it is extremely unlikely I will get one or even have the page opened when they restock. It is even less likely I would get one of the more valuable Swag Bags. I came to a realization that, sure, it would be cool to have one, but at hte end of the day I am just as happy to still be able to play Halo.

Personally, I hope it stays limited 500. Or if they do some more, make it only 777. I got one, was lucky to be on the site when they posted it.

That just happened to me, yet SK can't help but tell everyone that he got a bag, just to gloat about it.

It would be better if they limited it to one per person... They sold 500 to probably 300 people.

Lame.

This. And why do Twitter users get preferential treatment in the form of early info?

I'm quite pissed off that I didn't even have a chance of getting one.

Not so.

Just go to bungie's twitter page, and wait. It will have a thing that says "new tweets" on that page if there are some.

No f5 needed.

Not really, I wanted this with a fiery passion, I waited 4 hours constantly F5ing the Bungie store hoping to get 1.

But, I would be rage face'ed too.

It is not so much of it being rare as it is filling it with Swag.

Bungie is not an infinite supply of swag. You have to draw the line somewhere. 500 bags full of swag is an amazing amount in it's own.

  • 06.23.2011 1:17 PM PDT

I've been a member on these forums for years and I've been a proud Bungie supporter for even longer. No one should be getting upset about them selling more and potentially making these "less rare." First of all, all of this money goes to charity. Secondly, it's Bungie's 20th Anniversary celebration, and it's Halo's 10th. We should all be happy for each other here, and everyone has a right to celebrate it and partake in the festivities. No one should be concerned with what is or isn't exclusive, but should instead be focused on themselves, and more importantly, focused on the fact that all of this money is going to charity, and of course that it's Bungie's anniversary!

I really hope that I'm able to get a bag myself. I just got home from work about 20 minutes ago and I was very disappointed to see that I missed out.
