Subject: For Those of Us Who Don't Partake in Twitter

We were somewhere around Barstow...

Is it really fair that Twitter users get preferential treatment in the form of early info, specifically pertaining to the swag bags?

I'm dying to get my hands on just one of the bags, but I had no chance whatsoever. Did you even say that today would specifically be the day they were going on sale? It wasn't very clear, I thought it would be Bungie day itself.

I can handle the ridiculous shipping costs for overseas users (for me, I'm literally 'over the sea' in Ireland) but allowing people to purchase serveral before others even have a chance is quite depressing.

I'm just an internet nobody to everyone on here but I'd do just about anything to get my filthy hands on one of those swag sacks.

You don't need to be a Twitter user to read Twitter updates.

  • 06.23.2011 1:20 PM PDT

You don't have to join Twitter to read tweets.

And there is the Bungie App.

I saw a thread here about it. So it wasn't just twitter users.

I know I don't have to be a user to read the tweets, but I was unaware Bungie even tweeted.

I come here daily for my news, stats and discussion, nowhere else.

It's a'me, Sesto

Really? Go make a twitter account then, don't be such a baby.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

This. And, as has been said, you can read Twitter without an account.

Whoo.

They said 23rd to 7th will be the celebratory two weeks.
Or something like that somewhere.

It's not a unsafe assumption that today would be the day they started going on sale.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

You know, with the bags, I think Amazon couldn't maybe handle all the people buying it at once.

(and that is a lot of orders for Bungie too fill).

So, they probably have a lot left.

Five years older and wiser
The fires are burning, I'm fire, never tire
Slay warriors in the forests, and on hire

Bungie should really just add a twitter feed to the home page.

So does anyone have anything substantial to say other than what's been said so far? I'm fully aware you don't need to sign up for Twitter to read tweets, but I was also totally unaware Bungie tweeted at all. I come here for my daily dose.

Then it's your fault. You know what you need to do to get the stuff you want, go do it and stop being a baby thinking that everyone will cater to your wants.

  • 06.23.2011 1:26 PM PDT

If you are so angry about it, then sign up for Twitter. People who hate Twitter have never tried it. It's the greatest source of info out there.

Your loss, not ours.

With all due respect, OP, there's not a lot to complain about.

Twitter is a free service and you don't even have to use it to see the tweets. Heck, just use the iPhone Bungie app or keep a tab open with the twitter page.

I'm fairly certain amazon could handle a couple of hundred orders in the space of around 15 minutes. They deal with much worse than that on a daily basis.

  • 06.23.2011 1:31 PM PDT

Perhaps your thread title should be, "For Those Of Us Who Have Kids And Jobs."

My son has been fussy all morning, I was taking care of some lawn work, and making breakfast/lunch and now I'm taking a break while my son naps and I can't purchase a bag.

I'm sure the next bags will go on sale while I'm having dinner with my wife and spending time with her.

I want a swag bag, I want to give my money to the charity/Bungie... SOMEONE TAKE MY MONEY!

But for the same item?

Plus, bungie has to get the orders ready and what not.

<_<

Really though, I agree whole heartedly, but I can't stress myself over something like a swag bag. I'm keeping my eyes open while I'm at a computer, but I'm not going to go out of the way of my responsibilities.
