If you're reading this, congratulations. You've just pressed a button to find out a little bit more about me. Not that you will, but well done anyway.

The shipping for individual items to the UK is very high, but the shipping charge doesn't increase much per extra item. What I did was buy many items, so that way I don't pay more for shipping than the actual item.

Of course, I'm spending a ludicrous amount of money overall, but hey, Bungie is only having one 20th anniversary!

Exactly. I may have to visit the bank tomorrow. Although, this is the -last- time I'm dishing out for Halo memorabilia/Swag!

Yeah, I don't think I can get away with purchasing anymore. I mean, the strength of the Pound with regards to the Dollar is somewhat comforting, but its still a lot of money to spend.

Having said that, I'm fully expecting Bungie to offer up some more swag over the next two weeks that I'll be sorely tempted to get. I'll probably come back tomorrow and find that one thing I've always wanted but never known I've wanted!

Best do some overtime methinks...

At least you have time. All I have is EMA, most of which is spent on bills and food supplies.

Yes, that is one of the benefits of managing to have found work. Then again, work gives me the money I need to buy things like this, but had I not been on holiday this week, I wouldn't have seen the swag listed in time.

Have money but don't have time to buy vs. time to buy but no money... wow, that'll work out well...

How much do you people think it costs to ship from the west coast of the US accross North America and the Atlantic to get to the UK? Are you used to paying lower rates elsewhere?

Legendary edition, which was most likely produced in the USA and shipped over here cost £100 for me.

Yes. As I have stated in another thread, I've never paid above £15 for shipping (and it was for a bigger item than a T-Shirt) from anywhere in the world.

Same applies in my experience. Even shipping from China/Hong Kong/Japan is cheaper.

I get payed in a week, perhaps I will pick it up but I am still outraged at the shipping price.

This will be available in a week right?

At the rate they are going at the moment...
It's unlikely.

I doubt it was produced here--pretty much nothing is. Given that it came from an American company, it likely says "made in China" somewhere on it. But that's irrelevant--what is relevant is where was it shipped from?

Size and distance matter, so where from all over the world have you ordered?

Well that's just crazy.

It could be the case that some of the retailers you were ordering from were eating some of the shipping costs (to avoid the reactions like those in this thread) and making that up with the profit margin on the product itself. Or it could be the case that Amazon just likes money and doesn't mind screwing over foreigners to get it. :-P

Both seem equally plausible to me.

The closest example to a T-Shirt in a far away place would be 2 games packaged into one parcel from China. It would either have to travel over a load of Asia & Europe to get to me or it would have to be flown in, cost me £9 in shipping fees - perfectly reasonable.

Edit: Also, while I cannot remember the exact amount of days it took to get to me, it did not take anything over 8 days. The estimated delivery date is 10-20 days on the T-Shirt.
