The way urk worded his post, it sounded as if it would force the chestplate. I forgot all about the nameplate.
You have a very good point with the whole nameplate thing as well.
It wasn't forced on Bungie Day.

Halo 3's flames weren't set up like Halo: Reach's, as part of the Armory. We would have to force them on and players wouldn't be able to switch them off. Ever.

urk never mentioned anything about Bungie Day, let alone the nameplate.
Sorry I misinterpreted his post.

If that's the case, can we have red flames in Reach? I know they were given to those who bought the Super Special Awesome edition, but not everyone did so.

So then people who paid $160 for the "Super Special Awesome edition" will be stuck with their cheaply made McFarlane statue and nothing else.

That statue was a heaping pile of -blam!-.

I'm pretty sure Bungie has told us a million times that the Bungie Armor is directly linked to their Bungie Nameplate.

Either way, if they can only activate the flames permanently without the Bungie Nameplate, how much of a difference would it be to just give the Bungie Nameplate as well. Flames in Halo 3 are recognized as people that work at Bungie, if they were to give the flames away, why wouldn't they just do it like Bungie Day and give the flames and the nameplate?

So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

I'm playing Halo 3 right now and not that many people have the seventh column nameplate. So I think overriding it by releasing the Bungie chest shouldn't get anyone upset.

In fact it would be the opposite. They would be happy. :D

And...?

And a ton of players would be really angry about it.
Not to mention the massive glitch found with the flame. (aside from Invis not working for it)

I contacted an employee from the bungie day that everyone got flame. The problems with flame in halo 3 is that in the player screen of the user who has the flame you can see the flame in a few cases of movement and just sitting still. You would never need the turret or anything. You could even pull off the glitch to remove all weapons from your posession and it will still be there.

The flame would flair up in the middle of games that would cause you to think that someone just flashed you or you were on fire.

This problem was never fixed since it was a graphic issue on the disc and the option of patching it was attempted but failed.

If you dig deep into the halo 3 forum about the time of the bungie day you will find threads reporting this flaw and how many said they would never use the armor unless it was for custom games.

This info came from an accumulation of pm's from 9 bungie employee's.

I really want the flames in Halo 3. That is still the main game I play. WAY more than Reach. I've dreamed of them for years, would really like to finally have them.

I don't think that's how it happens, Urk. If I recall a year ago, we all didn't wore the "Bungie" armor, as I saw some other player wore different armor. So how is it "Forcing all player" to wear it? I still don't understand.

Are you sure urk? Weren't the flames from last year a part of the armory called "Bungie" which was just a remodeled EOD chest with a light on it?

Most girls I've been with were hesitant about taking it in the mouth. But once they did most would swallow. I got tons of compliments on the taste.

I think it's because of my diet. No fast food, no alcohol and lots of fruit.

Go buy Legendary.

Be grateful you got the most exclusive Halo armor possible.

Just how is it exclusive if everyone now has it?

  • 06.23.2011 8:18 PM PDT

Wow! I'm glad my thread got noticed. And by the way Bungie this is something I have dreamed of for years. Just like recon. If you really are giving all this stuff, it would be awesome to adjust the flames some way.

I say we should take a vote with Bungie's Permission who wants flames and who doesn't. Bungie can you please explain more on how the process works.(You could PM me if you want) Because I don't understand that you can't ever take it off.

And if you don't want us Bungie community to have the nameplate BUNGIE. Can you create a new one or just give us the "PRO" nameplate. That's something I also have dreamed about. The funny thing is, I as crazy as it sounds put on my New Years Resolution Plans other than trying to get noticed in the Community and become something greater than a member. I wanted to get the "Pro Nameplate" and the "Halo 3 Flames" on Halo 3.

Bungie you left Halo 3 for a while now, and I think every game should get it's recognition once in a while. This would be a perfect gift before the game no longer exists is on Xbox LIVE. :(

Well that's a lame feature. Why the hell would you people make something you can't turn off? I mean SERIOUSLY COME ON.

Legendary should not be given out, I'm still regretting buying Legendary Edition. The flames are the only thing keeping me moderately pleased with my broken statue...

How did you break it? You're not supposed to play with it, ya know, just put it somewhere safe and look at it.

If it was broken in the box you should have gone back to the store....

You gain the ability to work for Recon Armor when ODST launched. That is more of a gift than the red flames could ever be.

Really sir? I remeber last year on Bungie day we got access to the special Halo 3 chest piece that gave us the red flames in Halo 3. I remember having to toggle off my Achievement sword (Katana)so that I could wear the chest piece that gave me the red flames.

It seems to me that if Bungie unlocked that chest piece again; permanently, players could toggle it on and off at will.

I have pictures to prove I had the H3 red flames last year, and I know very well what I did to get them.
