The beta is super awesome. RogueAssassin27 is now the person who got my Totodile's nickname. Hoo-hah! Relevant.inb4lock

So wait, this may be a little bit off-topic, but is this the summary for today?

Bungie begun selling their swags and stuff. Swag bags were sold before they were even announced. Sadfaced people. But Bungie still has more, so hope is still exist!

If this is correct, do you think it would help if Bungie posted the release info universally, not only on Twitter? Like on the front page?

If you really wanted to be a jerk, you'd go to Ebay.

I bought at least a hundred just to be a jerk and I'm keeping them all for myself.

How can you verify that people bought ridiculous amounts?

How can you verify that people bought a respectable amount for themselves and friends?

How can you as the verification as statistics into the even so as far as can further?

Achronos: And what's this about a "design team" I've been hearing? Apparently stosh is so awesome he's now considered a "team".

That would be ideal but not possible.

I am really mad, the stuff I miss out on whilst at school.

It should at least be 5 so people don't buy them in serious bulk. I don't mind people buying multiples, but I mind people buying a bunch with the intent of selling them later on. Ruins it for the people who actually want one.

I feel bad for people who missed out, but you can't blame anybody but yourself.

Lets look at some facts:

Everyone knew the festivities started on the 23rd, so in all likelihood the bags would become available on the 23rd. And it doesn't take a genius to think that they'll likely be putting them up on the store shortly after they get to work on the 23rd.

That's what happened. The bags went up shortly after 9am PST on the 23rd.

Urk has said that every bag will be different. He also said we can buy as many as we like to maximise our chances of getting the coolest swag.

Since the swag bags were announced I've visited the store every few hours to check for updates. Yesterday lunchtime (UK time, I think it was like 3am PST) I visited the store and there was a tab that said "20th Anniversary", but there was no stuff in it.

I then visited the forum to see that the stuff had actually been up for a couple of minutes (although couldn't be bought) and then taken down again. Me and about 100 other Bnetters then spent the next 5 or 6 hours on the store page hitting F5.

When the bags came up I bought 4, I also had to pay $70 shipping to the UK.

Just read that for a second, look at the lengths I went to in order to secure myself a swag bag. You can't come on here hours later and -blam!- and whine that it's not fair. If you wanted one you could have had one. I'm not buying these for profit or resale value, I'm buying them because I love Bungie and I love Halo and I want as much memorabilia as possible.

For the record, they were on the store for just over an hour before Bungie pulled them. People had found a method using Amazon to work out how many were left and a best guess would suggest there is less than 150 bags left for when Bungie put them back up.

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

Who in the world would need TWO swag bags?! WHO I ask you!

Every bag has different things in it.

Seriously, that's like asking "Who in the world would need TWO packs of Pokemon cards?! WHO I ask you!"

Ok, but some of us have things to do throughout the day rather than sitting at home pushing F5 repeatedly. I got home an hour after they were put up and they were already out. Had I been aware I would have had to be that vigilant I would have locked all my doors, shut off my phone, and sat on my ass all day, but I cant because I have a life occasionally.

I'm ok with it being first come first serve, that's fair enough. If that were my complaint than I would be saying they should have scheduled sellings. But I don't agree with people buying them in bulk and not giving a chance to people who actually want them rather than profiting off second-hand goods.

No excuse.
Several people had somebody at home (mom, dad, sibling) buy it for them.
I bought a couple for 2 friends who were both unable to buy it at that exact time.
I have the Amazon login info for another friend, he wants me to buy it as soon as they go up again.

Also, they were up for an hour and fifteen minutes.

Also, using the "I have a life" excuse is a little ironic considering you're whining about not getting halo swag from bungie.

I called in sick to work today (I don't care, I'm quitting soon anyways) and I pulled an all-nighter. I mashed the F5 for a good 5 hours.

I just woke up this morning. Had a donut, went to the doctor, frank some orange juice, went to my girlfriend's house, and then check the store while she was napping. I'm pretty sure I swiped one of the first bags.

Seriously. I'd like to be able to sit at home, but I give a damn about my job and I'm not going to call out so I can buy a swag bag. That being said, I'd like to have an opportunity to do so. Shame we can't all piss away things that matter, eh?

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

It's for charity. Bungie don't care if someone buys more than one.

Here, let me just dial my place of work and let them know that they can't count on me and that i don't deserve hours or money from them because i'll just call in sick due to the fact that videogames mean more to me than my financial status.

That being said, i hope bungie does do things a little differently tomorrow.

Love Halo. Love Bungie. Love swag.
Try to remember some of the people we play with online. Those randoms that you have to mute immediately for any number of reasons. These are the people with mommies and daddies who will sit in front of the computer for them. These are the people who get whatever they want handed to them because no one wants to hear them whine. These are the people who betray you because it's "fun". The Cartmans of the world. I truly believe that Bungie regrets allowing these people to prevail. Have faith and rest assured, that in the end, these people are never really happy. I want a bag, and also feel like I should get one solely on my devotion to the franchise and the company...just like all of you. But I would never step on even a stranger to by any more than two. Yes, greed is a part of life, but those that embrace it and defend it are not the model to live by. Hate, theft, violence, greed, etc. are all "parts" of life that we should avoid, not justify. But no one is perfect; i'm sitting hear and being passive aggressive right now. Just try to remember in the days to come, that we all...most of us...just want to have a small piece of memorabilia from the company that gave us the game we love so much.
Please.
Good luck to everybody who didn't get one or fifty(eye roll) bags today.
Sorry about the rant.

Most of the Swag Bags were snatched up by adults for themselves.
