I miss Halo. Maybe Halo 4 will change that.

Edit: Lol nope

So as we all know, lately there has been a huge increase in the posting of shock sites. These sites are designed to shock the user and are sometimes hard to close or can not be closed until the process is ended or the computer is reset.

Of course the majority of us know how to spot these, and even tell others when one is posted. However if the ability to use the [url=[/url] code was removed, we would see less spam posts and very few shock site posts.

The person should gain the ability to use said code by posting so many times or being active to a point.

People are always going to find a way to exploit any security measures for their own personal entertainment.

For example, some people will make accounts in advance and let them mature a bit before using them. And if you elongate the period in which you can't post links, then it's a determent to actual newcomers to b.net.

Well that is a fair point. Maybe the ability to use [url=[/url] should be removed then. This lets newbies post links yet stops the trolls posting shock sites under different text.

Don't hate the player, learn by them.

I agree with you to such an extent I actually made a thread earlier today about this problem. I got... shock sited...

I also think that if the Url has bungie.net and youtube in it, as well as other reliable websites it should come up a different coloured link. After all, I doubt bungie.net is only made using html so it should be possible.

Well the problem like that is url shrinking services.

For example:

http://tinyurl.com/5hb9c
http://tinyurl.com/5hb9c
Click

All 3 are the same link.

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The Button

The problem is people will make new accounts and let them sit until they can post named hyperlinks, that's one of the problems with this. Then there's the users who are honest and don't post shock sites who'll be affected by this.

Komark already said that Nate

But they have to do something. An incident like this has surely severely damaged Bungies rep. Children are on here as young as 10, I think Bungie should track down strike and actually sue him, because he has pretty much -blam!- on them. I know I won't be clicking a link ever again from this site. I might even leave unless somethings done, for my computers security. I don't want to have to spend a grand getting a new computer because some twat thought he was king -blam!- and had to post links like that.

Make it so a user must post 100 times before they can use the url code. Takes a little time, but not excessive and would cut down on shock sites.

READ IT.

I won the Star. With this on Week 18.

They should just ban urls all together.

Is it not possible to remove the ability to post a link using the [url=[/url] format? I mean we can't post images yet Bungie Employees can. There has to be some sort of system which this can be used on right?
