Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

That site was actually linked from the front page of B.net, so many people have seen what you are talking about. If Bungie was going to talk about that, they probably would have done it already. But if you want my opinion, i don't think it was a coincidince. It's possible, but that is the sort of thing bungie is known for, with all their hidden codes.

You have free time... do you spend it or save it?

in recent internet surfing I came across a website that by using some simple math they have found actual sizes of Halo universe objects such as the pillar of autum. They found that the ship Pillar of Autum is 1.17km long! Is this another 117 coincidence, or what, it seems like everywhere i look I find some peculiar thing that is 117.

My question to the public and especially Bungie is:

Was the Pillar of Autum made to be 1.17km, or is this just a weird, yet cool coincidence?

this is the site where i found the information:

117 is an important number in halo, but the number 7 is more significant to Bungie's stories. In another Bungie game named Marathon, the number that was often used as a reference to the hero was 819. I believe it was a reference to the characters height in the game engine, and there was a secret level with the number 819 in it. The Master Chief is 7 feet tall, and 819/7=117. The reason seven is a more significant number than 117 is because the number seven is referenced much more by Bungie. If you want to find out more go to http://marathon.bungie.org

"I pledge to punch all switches, to never shoot where I could use grenades, to admit the existence of no level except Total Carnage, to never use caps lock as my "run" key, and to never, ever, leave a single BoB alive."

2B || !2B - Why don't you look Inside the Machine?

I already knew that, there a-lot of more things that exist too. I can't remember any now, I am sun-burnt and tired, but read the Halo books...there are a lot of good descriptions and measurements in them. Like Halo's width is like 14 miles thick. 14/2 = 7 And you can find the circumference, I just forget the diameter.

the diameter is 10,000 km

Bungie is the best.

Simple as that.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Because they screwed up the whole Maw level dimensions. See here.

The numbers don't lie.

Dude, it would be so cool if we had these pregnant sentinels that were, like, all flaming and shot out baby flaming sentinels that would be all "YARRRGH!" then they'd be like, "WHAAAAR" when they shoot.

That'd be sweet.

1.17 km in a straight line I guess.

With all the funny bumps, ups and downs etc. etc. I'd say it could be 2 km
