The Bungie foundation is currently undertaking a program called "Ipads for kids". This program uses the profits from "Bungie swag" to buy Ipads full of 'child friendly' content and shares them with children's hospitals.

Now this is all good and I see what Bungie is trying to do, but IMO, it almost seems like a wasted opportunity.

I'd hate to be that guy, but there is a whole list of fatal diseases in kids which have no cure. I just feel the money would be better off supporting research towards a cure of something fatal, rather than buying Ipads.

I don't know. Just my opinion.

What do you think?

Oh and so I don't sound like a jerk, I'm actually really impressed that Bungie has set up the Bungie Foundation. Certainly separates them from other gaming companies.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I kind of like it becuase it is related to Bungie in a way and makes the children a little more happier being in the hospital.

Hi I'm RT and I like to argue!

Then you don't understand the big picture.

What we're raising here wouldn't be but a drop in the bucket in terms of the funding levels needed for medical research--very little difference made overall.

Buying iPads or other gamey things for kids makes a very noticable difference in their lives, one that is almost instantly recognizable.

And of course, you can choose not to participate.

The beta is super awesome. RogueAssassin27 is now the person who got my Totodile's nickname. Hoo-hah! Relevant.inb4lock

OP doesn't know that Bungie-marinated iPads have the magical ability to bring joy to children.

Obviously.

But seriously, it's the fact that children know that people care about them by giving them something gives them joy. And what better cure there is in life than joy?

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

I see your point, and somewhat agree with you.

Curing children is the top priority. But they're sick and unhappy, so why see them in such a slump? If we let them use an iPad, they might feel better about things.

Um.....Red name tag??

Staying at the Hospitals can never be fun. Bungie wants kids to have fun in Hospitals since they know kids hate Hospitals. Bungie is doing a really great thing, thats why Bungie is so awesome.
