Well, I typed up Harbou and Lang on Google and found the wikipedia page about an old film director named Fritz Lang who married a woman named Thea von Harbou. The director evidently had a hand in creating the Film Noir genre.
But I have trouble seeing a parallel. I'll have to do more research on them. Until then, thats what I got.
I will start looking also.
was anybody else intrigued by the living time quote?
Bill Goodwin (Greg's friend who pointed out the referance for those who didn't read it) has a suggestion:
"Master of Trivia? Not me! But just off the top of my head...the ideological schism between Lang and his wife bears resemblence to the one between the Didact and his own willful mate?"
To which Bear responded: "Interesting take on the issue, and not too far off base! But go take a look at a silent movie called THE INDIAN TOMB. Ask Ray about when he first saw it..."
It may have merely been a character reference, breaking the 4th wall so to speak.
