BOB - "help us help you"

Ok B.net let's put things back into perspective.

I know a majority of people come here to complain about how they've been cheated out of something or that Bungie has completely devalued the Eternal armor effect, and other various rants.

But let us not forget that there has only been one person who truly deserved and earned his blue flames. That person is Mathieu Lacombe aka ROG Survivor aka "cancer kid".

I know many people in the Bungie community are outraged about blue flames and Bungie/star nameplates being handed out after it was awarded for creating artwork, screen shots, or awesome maps. I don't want to take anything away from the winners of past contest but take a second and realize what you had to do to get your reward and what Mathieu went through to get his blue flames.

It is now with great sorrow that I bring you news of Mathiue's passing. This might be old news but I don't know how many of you followed his story after he received his blue flames. I encourage all of you to leave condolences to his family, because after all he was one of us. You should also read his interview on Waypoint to see how brave this kid really was.

I hope after reading this many of you will think twice about posting a thread complaining that you are being cheated out of something or that Bungie screwed you over. I also hope everyone will be sporting their blue flames. Let's burn bright and burn blue for Mathieu.

Thank you.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I saw that on the Reach forum.

It is really sad but I am happy this is what Bungie is doing, trying to make people who are upset and in need a little more happier.

I am happy to of donated to help make some one in need happier.

You rock Bungie.

Sometimes starting back from square one does good...

Ask smart questions
http://catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html

Why would someone be upset about that? I don't understand. I have spent my time forging, playing the video game and whatever else, I don't think I deserve some kind of virtual "medal" to prove that I did that. (Well, my stats are online to see)

I don't see why someone would be upset over this, people are strange.

Making a post like this is counterproductive I just hope one day people will ignore any whining about stupid stuff in a game. I worked for hard it blah blah shut up and get over with it its not like your life's over.

I'm going to sound like a jerk, but what lesson is learnable from this? Sorry if the question brings distress but really.

Because he was one of us, a part of our community. To be honest when I started writing the post I didn't know he had passed.

Racism isn't wrong if it's funny.

Dude, who really cares. I mean, it would have been cool if you were "unique" and among the few who had the flames, but at the end of the day, it's cooler if everyone has them.
It's why I wish they would have had enough Bags O' Swag for everyone, especially if it's gonna be for charity. I mean, why wouldn't they want people to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for their charity? Ultimately however, it is up to them, and no amount of crying will make a difference.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to watch like a Hawk for when they restock the Bags O' Swag.

I wasn't talking about Mathieu. I was talking about all the little kids who whine that because something isn't Super Limited Amazing Spectacular Only One In The Universe that it no longer has any worth.

You would know that if you read my post.
