If you look at the way they are setting up their career page where they have 3 overall categories (Art, Design, and Engineering)
but with a fourth separate PS3 category that has its own list of positions (all seemingly engineering positions)

its been obvious for some time that bungie is going multiplat but
could this be hinting at multiple IPs ( a separate ps3 project? even)
or is that how developers separate their personnel, by system? (obviously difficult to know)

just speculation

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I doubt that Bungie would separate their fanbase by making different games for different systems.

Interesting, but I doubt you'll see a title unique to PS3. Remember Activision is now partnered with Bungie, and they are always after more money.

You may see more engineers for PS3 because Bungie already has people familiar with the 360. So they do not need more help.

It could be a separate category since Bungie has been known to produced games for the Xbox and Xbox 360 for the past 10 years. They want to make it clear that they are looking for PS3 devs.

If you notice the they are mainly engineer positions, which would make sense as they did not previously have PS3 focused engineers, and would need some for the new IP to handle PS3 programming. All the content creation roles like art and design are uncategorized because they are platform independent.

So, I don't think, at all, that they are making separate IP's for separate consoles, they just need specific engineers to work on PS3's framework since they didn't have any previously.

Bungie want to be multi-platform with their new IP, so the reason Bungie needs PS3 developers is because the PS3 devkits are an entirely different kettle of fish compared to PC and Xbox 360 DKs. Seriously.

And they're costly, so you'll want people who know exactly what they're doing. Hence why there are positions purely for PS3 development.

"Experience utilizing the Xbox 360 or PlayStation Software Development Kit."

one of the "nice to have" expectations of a ps3 tools engineer

it doesnt seem like its so ps3 centered

It says that because that is their default job description for that role. They didn't customize them to fit a certain console, but put them under the PS3 category to indicate that they need PS3 focused developers in that role.
