I just had a random thought... All of the moderators live in America, which means there are times of the day when this place is not secure. I am aware that America has 3 time zones, but there are still hours where all are pretty much sleeping hours. So what I'm saying is maybe bungie should hire some more international moderators, or just a more widespread team of ninjas?

This suggestion may be bezarre but maybe consideable?

Not all of them live in america. There are some in Europe and Australia to cover the time zones.

Well, actually, TGP lives in Australia, and he is on quite a bit. Reiginko lives there too, but has relinquished his powers.

I think we're okay for now. I think around the time the next project is announced, we should expand the amount of moderators, and their locations. But for the time being, we're good.

Forgot about him.... but still, point remains that they should be slightly more spread out.

Also, there are none in Europe as Goweb moved to America.

So, there are no European Moderators? Anyway, the moderation is fine. If there needs to be another moderator i am sure we will be the first to know...

Just because there are diff. Time Zones, doesn't mean that someone is not burning the midnight oil.

We have a few guys that are not located in America... when selecting new Moderators we do take time zone into consideration as well... but hey, we're not paid to do this so there is no 24 hour protection guarantee.

Hey, my antiperspirant manages it... ;D

Anyhow, we need one moderator at an Antarctic research lab, and a second moderator at an Arctic research lab. Total 24/hr protection the year round.

First of all: thats an awesome suggestion for 1 o' clock in the morning!
Second: Where the hell do you find someone who lives in Antartica.... Who is mad enough to live on an ice cube?

Me...my friend and I were planning a coup and were going to invade Antartica and the Artic and take them both over. Both having a population of about 10 scientists, we would have conquered more land in a week than Hitler in his life.

Actually, hate to burst your bubble but, there's no actual land in the Artic. It's just a giant Ice Cube. One which lack any shape remotely similar to a cube. That's why it's not a continent. No land, just ice.

Bungie has international moderators, but that doesn't matter. Ninja's never sleep... Except for Sigma.

Just because it is not made of soil doesn't mean that it is not land...if you can walk on it, which you can, it is land. Alaska is land, if not why did the US pay 7 some odd million dollars to the Russians for it in the 1800's? It is covered in ice and snow.

Well, like Antartica, there is land under Alaska. It is not just an overgrown iceberg. However, the Artic, is.

no, kilroy was quite correct, it was Reiginko, you can check on body politic if you like, it was founded by him, Reiginko, joined in 2001 and has the rank of "Lord". Not hard to find tbh.

  • 02.18.2006 6:26 PM PDT

to get back on topic, there is usually a period of time when no mod's are on. I've seen a few when they weren't and some seriously problematic threads came up, and stosh (i think) signed on the google chat and i posted the link, and they vanished. Of course, it was at a time that most people aren't on either, so it doesn't really make a problem.

Plus i've seen that some mods, like dmbfan, go on pretty early to sweep up the mess of last night.

The numbers of users will probably continue to decline or level off before the announcement of the "next project." I agree that we are ok until it is released. If anything, there have been more locked threads lately.

Thing is, moderators will never be chosen due to location. Basicly, that blows your whole idea out unfortunatly. You do have have a pretty good point though but such is life.
