Yes... I can dodge ducks... and slow moving bullets.

Perhaps, now just perhaps, the flash guards are actually working and the actual flash without the flash guard would be enormous. Yah never know.

Flash guards are working. I would say, that barrel is ended with muzzle break with flash guards. Well, you can reduce recoil of sniper rifle or suppress its flash - never both on the same scale. Flash and sound suppressors have tendency to increase recoil. I prefer steady sniping than almost completely reduced flash.
Other thing is that the flash is more visible watching from side or first person (for sniper) - it is also common for our era sniper rifles equipped with flash suppressor and muzzle break.

If I mistook something - correct me ;)

Yes, there're too many numbers in my name.

The sniper rifle looks cool with a flash hider, AND muzzle flash.

On hiding dead bodies:

Inside another dead body. It's the last place they'll look
A corpse within a corpse.
CORPSEPTION.
Win.

Flash hiders aren't designed to make the flash invisible. They're supposed to stop the user being blinded by his own flash, especially on night operations.

JD's right, it's not to totally suppress the flash. Just suppress the flash for the firer, next time you fire the sniper rifle notice how much flash you see.

reminds me of something me mate said about silencers, guess what, don't make guns 'whisper quiet...' far from it!

Am I supposed to write something funny here?

Actually, I have read that if you use sub-sonic ammo with caliber that is easy to "silence", like 9 mm, it's pretty silent.

And they're supressors, I believe.

(\.(\

that sir is not a flash guard, it's a muzzle break that reduces recoil...

they have them on .50 cals currently, without them a rifle that size would snap your collar bone like a twig.
