Ignore my gamertag. It's actually Dragonzzilla.

Using Canon, what are all the roles in Yanme'e Society. It must include Minors, Majors, Ultras, Queens, and Unmmutuals at the least! Are there Yanme'e Royal Guard? Are there Kings? You decide!

Theres a reason for everything, not through the use of religion, but via the power of LOGIC AND REASON!!

I would kill them all via orbital nuke-age, i hate them.

But OT, i would make it the same as the average bee/wasp society.

Cept, i would make it more communist-ish, equality between the workers ect.

Pretty much, in overall they are depicted as super advanced bees/wasps/ants/termites, with their society based on a matriarchal foundation.

The Queen lays the eggs which are most likely fertilized by Warriors or King depending on the system they follow(or not fertilized at all), those eggs must be within the hundreds or thousands depending on the size of the queen and of the eggs. Drones serve as the main workers, while their warriors serve as protectors to the queen or as Majors (if in the Covenant), I'm pretty sure there must be a king, as termites do have one, the king would be bigger than other Drones but smaller than than the Queen.

So what would be the color of a King Drone?

That would be how I would imagine it as well.

Maybe before becoming part of the Covenant they had more status differences, but at their low level in the Covenant, I doubt they have any need (or are even allowed) for anything else.

*Opens his Halo Encyclopedia with a FWD by Frank O'Connor* 'The Yanme'e. "In 1112 CE, The Yanme'e (or "Drones") were incorporated into the Covenant. These hive-creatures proved useful aboard starships as single-minded maintenance workers. They are not as technically skilled as the Huragok, but they can be tasked for simple repairs and efficient general maintenance.'

It goes further to explain how they were incorporated into the Covenant structure. It starts off saying that in the first encounters of the 'buggers or drones' with the Covenant resulted in high loss of life on both sides however the Covenant fared much worse than the Yanme'e during the short conflict.

Going into their own caste system. From the book directly, "Culturally speaking, the Yanme's are simply a client race of the Covenant, like the Ungoy. They do adhere to the Covenants religious principals and obey their orders unquestioningly, but they have no particular passion for the Covenants societal norms. They follow what they see as a normal and lineal power structure. with the 'Queens' ruling from on high.
Communication difficulties with other Covenant species mean that the Yanme'e largely remain among their own people except in combat. The Yanme'e are very single-minded and while they excel at simple tasks, their lack of individual initiative relegates them to the lower ranks of the Covenant military structure. They are also viciously territorial over tasks they see as their own." pg. 148
The next page describes about how they communicate through 'sonics' and more complex ideas and thoughts are communicated through pheromones.
