So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

The Bungie chest plate in Halo 3 that is.
This thread did answered everyone's question, but it still left me wondering.
On July 7th 2010 the Bungie chest was available to everyone for one day only. According to Urk in the thread I linked, Custom code was used so the chest piece can be toggle off.
So if Bungie were to normally release the Bungie chest to the public, this might happen:
Theory: When you go to Halo 3's armory all of the head and shoulder pieces can be changed, but the body plate will be darkened (kinda like you can't press "start matchmaking" without connecting to Xbox Live) thus not allowing you to change the chest because it will be fixed to the "BUNGIE" body only.
I can understand why the community would be pissed off. They won't be able to use any other chest piece.
I remember back in 09, I made a thread in the Reach forum questioning if it was being made to release the Bungie chest in Halo 3. (a stupid noob question I know)
Urk's reply was "My head hurts."
Now I understand why Urk's head hurts, because if Bungie were to release the Bungie body they would have to use a custom code, but this custom code could screw up the entire armory locking every single thing unlocked or it can crash the Halo 3 server. Who knows?
Also I am 100% certain that the Bungie chest does not cause lag. It didn't cause any on Bungie day at least.
So this is why I think Bungie may not release the chest at all.
I thought it was because of the Bungie nameplate this whole time, I was wrong.
I think Nathan Fillion and Pope Rex were test subjects for the custom code and since it's only 2 people they have it forever. Giving it to everyone may cause problems.
Anyway I would like to hear from you guys. What do you think?
