Lets Boogie

Im sure we all know that you don't need to be an Alien to be a Monster in halo, for monsters can look like you and I. It can be argued then, that Dr, Halsey is a Monster.

She caused the Spartan 2's to be created. She stole 75 kids from their parents, then replaced them with flash clones. Although they are clones, those 75 clones are people to. But because they were flash clones, they died of natural causes at an early stage in their childhood (they were at least 6 years old when this happened). Therefore she is responsible for not only the capture of 75 kids, but the death of 75 kids as well.

Then she allows human experimentation, which causes the death of 30 (you can look it up on the halopedia to confirm this). Now she is responsible for the deaths of 105 kids and also 12 kids that were crippled because of the experimentation.

This what a Monster would do.

And don't say that the human-covenant war, and Mankind winning it, causes her to not be a Monster since she made the spartans which had a hand in winning the war.

The Spartans were created with the intent to defeat the Rebels, the UNSC didn't even know about the Covenant, so if the Covenant never invaded, the spartans still would have been created.

What do you think?

Brains beats brawn get used to it

Fear the Red Comet

Variety is the spice of life.
Long live games.
Death to all fanboys.

I think that this tread is wholly redundant.

What discussion is there for this. Of course for those of us that reads the books we'd know that Halsey is a monster for kidnapping kids and brainwashing them to be loyal soldiers. She says it herself. So of course there's no need to arguing for it because the character herself, whether it can be justified or not otherwise by us, considers herself to be so.

That would explain her hair.

But yeah, 75 kids in exchange for the survival of the Human Race.

That's how she justified kidnapping them.

I will say the same thing that I said last time this was brought up. A true monster does not feel guilt like Halsey did.

oh man, I thought this was going to be a "she's a monster because she spawned Miranda" joke thread. Now I'm sad...............

Do you know what kind of hat I'm wearing?

A party hat; you don't get one. An honor will this party be, a party in your honor, for your honor. Some of Tfear's personal guards are going to be there. You'll be introduced shortly.

Prepare to die.

The fact that she question's what she has done (given humanity a chance of survival) for the sake of a few hundred kids feelings shows she isnt a monster.

This.

Also, she tries to save the Spartans now.

If you're passionate about the thing you're talking about, I'll always lend an ear.

She's responsible for a lot in helping humanity survive.

"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain"

She had to take some risk, cold and sometimes calculated. It's what happens when you have a higher purpose. In the bigger picture, she's actually a saint for humanity.

For her to be a monster she would have to have a complete disregard of her moral compass, and the regret and empathy she still has by the time of GoO would have never even slipped her mind.

Under the reasoning to put down rebels? Yes I would consider her a monster.

But since she did it at just the right time and ended up saving humanity, I dont consider her a monster.

Yep. A monster will admit what they have done (sometimes), but they won't feel guilt or regret over it.

Halsey did feel both.
