Mendoza's Log# 3
This is not what I was expecting. I was kind of expecting to be killed and ripped to pieces by a swarm of geonosians or shot by a single stray laser.
What I was not expecting was to have all of the molecules in my body being ripped and forced apart for a split second and then being placed back together again, like nothing had happened.
Chapter 2: Interdimention travel
Day one
Mission timer; 4:44
"Sir..." Mendoza began to speak but Minime probably already knew what he was about to ask.
"We're heading to an enemy stronghold. They say they found a relic... unknown design. Nobody from this Galaxy has claimed it yet - and yes... we did try everyone in less than 3 hours." Minime grunted and continued to stare out of the cargo bay door with Mendoza at his side.
"Unknown design? Does it hold any significance?" Mendoza asked his commanding officer.
"It does to the enemy - and they wont let us have it without a fight." Minime said, shaking his head slowly.
They've been on the ground for 4:45 minutes and they were ready to be done with the constant fighting and watching their brothers die.
"Lets get this done. Quickly and Cleanly and move on to the next! The more experience we have... the more likely all of us are to survive!" Mendoza turned to the newest squad of clones, they were all shinies, not all of them were gooing to live. Hell maybe none at all.
Mendoza grunted, turning around only to stare at the LAAT/i across from them loaded with BIGEE, Netmaster, Mac, some clone named Alex, and Horizon.
BIGEE nodded at him and opened a comm link. "Try not to get shot." He said flatly.
"Same." Mendoza said, and Horizon cut in.
"I'll be glad to finally get some action." He grunted and probably smiled abit as usual.
"Lets kill some clankers!" Alex growled through his comm, he was cocky.
"Relax Alex, You'll get your chance." Netmaster said flatly and punched Alex's shoulder.
"Sure." He mumbled.
"Alex. Let me know when you get hit. I'll have a bacta-shot at the ready for you." Mendoza said and patted the hardcase on his left hip, Alex could see it, they were flying pretty close.
"Cut the chatter." Minime grunted through the comm and everyone fell silent - instantaneously for that matter.
The target location was in sight, no wonder why they all had to shutup.
"Get ready troopers! You boys are gonna have to hit the ground running! AT-TEs will be providing extra support and covering your rears!" The pilot shouted through the cockpit and over the proximity comm.
"Roger."
"Affirmative."
"Copy.
"Time to lock and load."
Came the various responses of all the clones of the new first platoon.
They all grabbed their weapons, switched the safeties off, reloaded and made sure their weapons were in working order.
BIGEE simply stood up and spooled his Z-6 Rotary Blaster Cannon.
They waited for the moment of truth, where they would live or die trying.
Mendoza growled and held his DC-15s Blaster Carbine with pride. "Come on... come on!" He said and waited for the bay doors to open. "Bring it!" He growled angrily and as the doors finally opened he sprinted out first and dodged laser fire.
"GO! GO! GO!" Minime shouted but Mendoza was way ahead of them all charging the enemy and firing blaster rounds at the enemy, approximately twenty meters ahead of himself was a natural trench formed simply by the wind and rock layers of the planet.
"Bring it on clankers! you think you can take me?!" Mendoza shouted, he was reminding himself of a pychopath everytime.
He laughed menacingly as he fired a single round taking the head of a droid off.
He fired another round as he sprinted, hitting a droid in the chest, deactivating it - permanately.
Mendoza growled through his teeth as he ducked from a laser as he sprinted forward, there was a single super battle droid standing infront of him and the only effective way to kill a superbattledroid in CQC (Close quarters combat) was to use a vibro-blade. Something he had always kept handy.
Mendoza gripped the handle of the blade, whose seathe was attached to his chest plate. He quickly unseathed the blade and activated it, slashing in a uppercut motion towards the Super battle Droid, slicing open its face and main sensor components.
The droid then went on a blind rampage, firing red lasers randomly before Mendoza managed to force the Droid to turn around, firing at the B1 droids and mowing a line through them. He finished the droid off with a single stab on the top of its head and disabled it completely.
Mendoza jumped down into the trench and started slashing at closer quarters, killing multiple B1 droids before finally the rest of First, second, and third squads joined him killing the remainder of those inside of the crater.
"This is Big Momma, recommend you troopers stay inside of that trench while we kill those enemy artillery guns over?" The Commander of an AT-TE recommended and asked them if they heard him.
"Roger that Big Momma, feel free to proceed, we'll move out towards the enemy stronghold when you're done taking care of business." Minime affirmated and cut the link with the AT-TE Commander.
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Whoosh!
Whoomp!
Whoomp!
Whoomp!
Came the barrage of fire from three different AT-TE walkers. They all smacked right into three different artillery guns, destroying them all with relative ease and Mendoza simply blinked as he saw the flames spit up into the atmosphere. He hated having extra heat when there was already so damn much of it as it was.
"You are clear to proceed." Big Momma's Commander said flatly through the comm and his voice was filled with total emptiness of emotion. It was quite remarkable, maybe it was his focus on the task at hand and the need for concentration that did that to him.
Mendoza climbed out of the trench and continued with the charge, taking point once more.
The 1st killed the entire garrison of droids before they came to the biggest spire, any of them had seen yet.
"Alright troopers, its gonna be close quarters... the Relic is on the bottom floor, three kilometers underground in the Geonosian Catacombs, stay sharp." Minime ordered and checked the door to the Spire, it was locked as it towered over them. The geonosian glass and architecture made something as ugly as a giant rock sticking out of the ground look as beautiful as a temple and beacon of hope in the midst of hell.
It was most likely a bigger hell - and that it was.
"BIGEE breach and clear." Minime waved his hand towards the main and seemingly impenetrable door to the Nexus.
BIGEE moved to breach and clear, taking but a few moments, to set the charges, add a timer move back and say that one infamous line.
"Fire in the hole!" BIGEE ordered as everyone entered cover except Minime.
BIGEE watched as the door exploded and the dust flew into Minime's face, he was uneffected and continued to stand there.
"Mendoza, Faux. Move in and clear the main lobby." He ordered both of them.
Mendoza moved in without hesitation but Faux got cocky and walked infront of Mendoza, he didn't even check the roof or the corners of the room.
Mendoza did it for him however and felt the ground crack beneath his feet. His insticts forced him to jump against his will and he heard the floor crumble, followed by the gasp of Faux and him gripping the edge of the hole, Mendoza grabbed his Hand instantly, only to find that it was severed from faux's arm. Something must've grabbed him with enough force to tear his entire hand off and leave nothing but that specific hand gripping the edge of a hole in the floor.
Blood dripped from the hand and onto Mendoza's armor. "Huh." He grunted and dropped the hand down the hole and turned to the doorway. "Clear." He spoke into his comm and the rest of First Platoon charged in. They were the specific force tasked with finding the relic and possibly clearing out the entire spire.
"Time to head down." Horizon grunted, he looked as though he were somehow even tougher now in time.
"Yep." Mendoza grunted and stared at the hole.
"We got a hole in the floor, not sure where it leads but it took Faux, incase you were about to ask where he was." Mendoza said flatly and blinked a few times through the visor of his helmet.
"Alright. Somebody rappel down this thing, it looks like it leads straight down to our objective. Any volunteers?" Minime ordered and asked for anybody who wished to volunteer to rappel down a black hole in the middle of an enemy spire behind enemy lines. Anything down there would kill the rappeller in the blink of an eye, depending on who it was.
"I'll do it." Mendoza grunted and pulled out a rappeling cord from his belt. "WE'll go with him, somebody needs to cover his ass." Horizon stated and first squad got their rappeling cords ready.
Mendoza hooked his up to the side of the hole and climbed on down, before finally. Letting himself slide all the way down the cord and hold that was able to keep them all inside of it without squeezing them or even crowding the hole.
It diameter was approximately 4 meters long, it was strange how this hole used to be covered - but now it was leading all the way down to the bottom floor of the Nexus and catacombs. They would have alot of trouble getting back up though.
Mendoza felt his feet smack into something hard and his knees bent slightly as he absorbed the impact, he raised his wrist up to his mouth and pressed a button on his wrist comm. "Commander... we're on the bottom floor." Mendoza said, he was talking while standing directly under the hole.
"Affirmative Mendoza, keep moving." Minime said and waited for Mendoza to cut the link.
