I think the playlist selection is better, but that is bungie's fault anyways. In Halo 3, they removed playlists because they fell to populations around one or two thousand. They don't do this in Reach for whatever reason, but like I said, for this you can blame Bungie's Halo 3 matchmaking team. You are wrong about pretty much everything else. Where do I start?
Bungie kinda failed making decent maps. Don't you find it a bit sad that almost every other map in matchmaking is made from Forge. All the maps have unbalanced spawning where one team gets better advantage to weapons. Also, the maps break when certain AA are abused. On big maps you can just camp with sniper and camo. Some maps are ruined with jetpacks that rain fire down on anyone using bumper jumper. And don't get me started on Armour Lock. AA is just a lame add on that slows the game down. Maybe the reason the maps are bad is because the gameplay is broken.
And who cares about customization of armour? That has nothing to do with the actual gameplay and the graphics in Halo 3 were fine. Sure, the weapons may look cooler, but bloom kind of ruins any chance of them being compared in good light. In halo 3, there was spread. You had to slightly lead your shots, but you knew how the spread worked because it was uniform. In Halo Reach, bloom is random and you have absolutely no idea which direction the bullets will go. Sometimes spammers win. They also added four or five new power weapons to whore and got rid of the Beam Rifle which was one of the most fun guns to use that took a little skill. Custom games have gone down the tube and there is a lot less there than in Halo 3 if you ask me.
More players is a lie. Halo 3 had over a million unique users a day playing up until Reach's release. Considering how much Microsoft pushes Halo Reach by giving it away free in special offers and spamming ads of the game, the numbers are pretty low. Halo 3 still has about 170,000/day playing it. Halo 3 was above Modern Warfare 2 when Major Nelson would update us on the most played live titles. Somehow, Reach is behind not one, but two cod games. Yep, Black Ops sits at number one and MW2 climbs back up to number two. Had Halo Reach never came out and Halo 3 given the attention, it would probably still be on top. Halo 3 was by far the better game.
Here's somethings that you didn't really address that should be mentioned. For one, the campaign was better. The story, the voice acting, and the music were all 100 times over better.
Jumping used to be a skill. Gandhi hopping and ghost jumping on guardian added elements to the game that no other halo game could replicate. Jumping skill alone is an element that I feel showcases why Halo 3 is the best in the series. You can't dodge any sort of grenade in Reach with a timely jump because they come in like nukes. Who cares if the playlists or graphics are better if the actual gameplay doesn't match it. Halo 3 was by far the superior game and OP must be trolling.
