It makes perfect sense, and this theory would explain ALL THE INCONSISTENCIES that Reach has with other halo material.
Halo Reach is a dream created by the Master Chief while he was sleeping between the events of halo 3 and 4.
The dream was a fantasy that MC dreamed up because of so much stress that he had been through in the War, to seeing friends die, most of the Spartan 2's wiped out, etc.
Because of all of this, he subconsciously created a fantasy that was related to the horrible tragedy that happened to Mankind at Reach. He remembered how the space battle only lasted 2 hours, and after that all hope for Reach was lost. Although he knows his fellow man fought valiantly, all hope was lost because of the surprise attack by the huge and menacing forces of the covenant.
This caused him to subconsciously to portray the battle of Reach in a better light, that's why in "Reach" the covenant are not as much of a threat, and came in fewer numbers, that is why in Reach the whole conflict lasted longer then a week or 2.
It also explains ALL the inconsistencies. For example, in his fantasy world, the PoA never left Reach, in fact it was BUILT on Reach. Also i heard there was an Age discrepancy with the Spartan 3's in Reach, and the whole issue of them surviving Operation: Prometheus. This is all explained because the fantasy version of S3's are not the actual haloverse ones. It's actually a coincidence that they share the same name of the real S3's(Spartan 3's), after all MC never knew S3's existed. That also explains why more then two S3's are still alive. He never knew about Operation Prometheus, since in reality, only 2 S3's are alive. There is a reason why you didn't see SPI armor, because MC didn't even know it existed, he knew Spartans wore Mark V armor during the fall of reach, so that is why his fantasy S3's have it.
So what do you think? Is there a possibility that Reach is just a dream?
