Subject: Would you support selective membership if Bungie gets a new site?

Theres no way that it would make sense for any Bungie employee to start hand approving accounts.

That leaves it to be delegated to a mod or some other small, hand selected community members. Does anyone really want to do that? Thats a lot more to do for very little benefit.

It really depends on how worthwhile you think the current system is. The value of discussion in certain forums vs others. How problematic you think alt's are, spam, trolls, shock site links, etc... the level of discussion shared across the boards. If you're fine with the current setup, then sure, you won't want any change and any extra effort on anyone's part will seem a massive waste of time. There are those who disagree or would like to see some change.

Either way, they're obviously looking into making some changes...

Whisper Game Studios - shhhh, it's a public secret.

They could migrate accounts automatically, I'm sure.

To me, it seems that Bungie are trying to get as many Reach players as possible to link their Gamertags to Bungie.net accounts.

They've also asked us to link our accounts to emails.

Why?

Because I think that they're going to be migrating the userbase of Bungie.net into the Aerospace system.

They'll take the usernames of all of our accounts here on Bungie.net, set up accounts for us automatically, send temporary passwords to our email addresses (which will act as our log-in address too), and then we will be given the option to change our password once on the site and set up.

We'd then be able to connect our Gamertags, PSN accounts, Apple Accounts, Facebook, Twitter, etc. You name it.

There's no way that they'd sift through members manually.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I've been thinking this for a while. It's seems possible that's what they would do.

I would just like to see moderators have to approve people for forum posting like the Gawker sites. After so many people have been approved and starred on there, the people help moderators by promoting other comments. This way we don't have people get banned and go and make another profile to keep spamming something stupid.

At least if you want to be in the forums, you should have to go through "starred" people and the moderators in order to be allowed to post so that the forums get cleaned up.

Nah, there's got to be some place where run of the mill people can ask questions.

There still would be. Re-read OP.
