Right now I have a Soundblaster Live 24-Bit...should I stick with it or try to get X-Fi?

I mean if you have the speakers to back it up. There's no sense in shelling out lots of dough for a top sound card when you don't even have surround sound. HOWEVER, if you do have a sweet setup then I'd go right ahead. That card will scrub your sound and make it sound MUCH nicer. If your speakers are good, then they'll actually be able to take advantage of a good audio pickup.

EDIT: Yea, so again unless you have good speakers they won't take full advantage of the new sound card, so there's no point unless you have the speakers.

jman571: I'd get that card too, but I'm short a few hundred dollars for a new speaker setup :/

the X-fi has very good virtual surround sound, that I'd recommend. It can give you a performance boost if you're going from integrated sound too.

if youve got a 5.1 surround system like me, then you want something better than ac'97. i have ac'97. it sucks. big time. but i cant afford anything better.
