Bring Back Rocket Race!!!

I'm sure you all know about the ghosts of halo videos that have been popping up since Halo 2 and all the way into Halo: Reach. Well, I think I solved the mystery behind the ghosts. But I need the opinion of experts with how Halo games work. Since PC gamers, specifically modders, know all the ins and outs of the Halo engine and have pretty much looked at every line of code in the PC games, I figured you guys might be able to shed some light on the mystery.

Here's my solution:

Now what I need to know is, is it possible for a random spartan character model or weapon to suddenly appear out of nowhere and start killing people? Is there anything in the game code that would allow this to be possible? And is it possible for someone to remote control these random spartan character models from another game? If the answer is a definite no to all of those, then my solution should be the true explanation of how the ghosts of Halo manifest themselves.

One more question, has anyone ever encountered a ghost in a PC version of Halo? I don't think I've ever saw a video of any ghost ever showing up in a pc version of halo.

I saw sliding spartans in Halo PC, maybe it was Halo Trial. The level was Blood Gulch. Anyways, in Halo PC, I think it's just modding or hacking.

Alright, here's the deal about those "ghosts of Halo". They are nothing more than network glitches, when a player's connection screws up.

And when it does, they may occasionally become ghosts.

Here's what I figured out of it:

Halo PC: The laggy player (Jack, just for example) starts lagging from his point of view with the bad connection box showing in the bottom right corner of the screen at certain intervals. All grenades he attempts to throw will disappear, and he can deal no damage nor enter vehicles. He can walk around without having anyone else notice him, though. If he found themselves in the vehicle when getting glitched he will be lagging back and forth as he attempts to drive it, and he can't get out, how unfortunate!
From everyone else's point of view, he will appear as a motionless spartan model which cannot be killed or moved by explosions or any other means, although he will still flinch and bleed when hit. This raises a lot of eyebrows and most players will, in confusion, gather around Jack and start hitting him and shooting at him. Poor Jack.
After a while, Jack will get a "The game has closed down" message and appear to disconnect for everyone else.

There is another glitch. When Jack tries to disconnect from a wierd server (only seen this glitch on one server with my brother, he disconnected), he will still appear to stay in the server, but instead of carrying a weapon, he will stand in a constant T-pose. Everyone else get a "Jack quit" message at the end of the game.

Halo 2: Jack appears to lag out (disconnect) from everyone else's point of view while he has a blue screen of reconnecting. He also disappears from the scoreboard for everyone else. He is still on the server and can do anything he wants, but everyone else will see him as a spartan (or dinosaur, but who plays as a dino anyways) which slides around instead of walking.
Since most players have fear of the unknown, they will focus all their attention to Jack, usually resulting in Jack getting blown up or shot in the head.
Here's a friendly tip, Jack. Get broadband!

OR:

In team-based games, Jack may see players that are his team color, but there is no arrow and the small picture above the other player's head, and when targeting such players, his reticule turns red, leading to a lot of confusion as the player he's targeting is actually from his team. He may also see players with the small triangle-illustration thing above their heads and the reticule turns green when aiming at the player, however the player has a different color than Jack. The player will proceed to shoot Jack, and Jack will refuse to shoot at his "teammate" as he thinks he might get booted for betraying and patiently waits for the boot screen to appear...

(In some cases, you can freely replace Jack with SpaceCadet...)

Add me to your friends list if you haven't already. It's a lot more fun to play with people from The Maw and people I know than random noobs.

They are the result of lag and network problems, as mentioned above.

So my solution to the mystery is correct then? I artifically created lag in Halo: Reach using the overload glitch and this caused one player to be out of sync with the rest of the players.
