Sword Block? Yeah, I agree entirely. It's ridiculous. Can you block a shotgun? Nope. So why should you be able to do that with something made of hot plasma?
Gets even more retarded when you see it done to a guy with a Grav Hammer.
Armor Lock, on the other hand, is annoying in certain circumstance, but not totally broken. They need to take the ability to do that 'feathering' bullcrap out by making a second or so cooldown after you pop out, because what I saw in that vid was crap.
Though admittedly, that's what you get for standing there and punching a guy that, essentially, is an EMP grenade. Just back up, let him run out of Godmode and slice his balls off.
The issue I have with AL is the stupid tricks it breeds. It should not shed stickies already adhered to you, you should go ALL THE WAY DOWN and have to come all the way back out if you even touch the AA button to avoid people getting seven or eight uses out of it in quick succession on one charge like the guy in the vid, and you should not be able to 'quick turn' out of it at retarded speeds and punch a guy behind you.
On the other hand, I know firsthand that Lone Wolfing with AL takes much more 'skill' than using it in a team. If you just lock to get out of exploding or being stabbed, and there's 3-6 guys around you while you're locked.. you're screwed. That said, I mostly use it as an anti-explosive measure, or as a last resort and hope the guy is either stupid enough to get close enough I can EMP punch him, or that one of my teammates kills him.
If not, I usually die. And that's how it god damn should be. The feathering is utter bull, and that's from someone who can usually do it if they feel like it.
People online these days have no honor, and it's just something we have to, yes, adapt to. I share your anger, but.. that's just the fact of it. Adapt or die.Great post. I agree almost completely.
However, I've explained somewhere in the sea of posts exactly why I chose to stay so close to him and continue swinging. I don't blame you for missing it; who wants to read through 25 pages.
The reason I chose to stay so close is very justified. The main reason is that I saw him pick up a sticky grenade prior to the events in the clip. This means that the exact second I back off is the exact second he unlocks, sticks me, and backpedals to avoid the martyr kill I'd then go for. This would then result in him obtaining the Sword, which is not what I want to happen.
The other reason is exactly the previously stated one, except replace the sticky grenade with a well placed Pistol headshot. Not as likely, of course.
See, what I did actually worked, it was just ruined by Sword Block. The third slash would've killed him-- even if he stuck me. This all boils down to Sword Block, which is obviously not my fault and is not avoidable.
