Subject: Theatre Mode for Halo Anniversary, anyone?

I know that it's pretty much only a graphic and music improvement on the original Halo Combat Evolved, but is there anyone who knows if Theatre Mode will be in, or at least want it in?

I know I definatley want it in; I've had so much fun just randomly flying around in Theatre inspecting everything.

Walk softly, and carry a big midget.

There isn't a theatre mode for the Campaign.

In Astrum Nos Veho

No theatre mode. It wouldn't be possible. integrating that much new data into the original source code could easily break the game. Same as to why they didn't add XBL net code to the original multiplayer.

The only thing new coming with Anniversary is the graphic enhancements (made possible via 2nd graphics ending running on top) and a re-orchestrated version of the original soundtrack via Skywalker Sound.

Also the 7 re-made maps will feature in Halo: Reach multiplayer which you'll be able to access from the Halo: CEA disc. (a bit like the 2nd disc of ODST)

Sorry to disappoint you.

I thought they completely rebuilt the game from the ground up using all the original data as reference. I may be wrong but I'm expecting, theatre, 4 player co-op, online capability, forge, and all the added gametypes over the years.

And you thought you were pro...

I think it already has theatre. I mean, that's what they probably used to film the campaign gameplay in the trailer.

I don't know why they wouldn't just use the PC versions multiplayer

"Where ere thou hast been, here or in yon world manifest? Canst thou tell what is, or what was, or what is to come? No thing shall last. Yet there are some things that will never change. History is written in blood, yet are battles really lost on the battlefield? Canst thou tell me where thou comest, and where thou goest, and what is, or what was, or what will be? For everything remains, AS IT NEVER WAS."

I'm wondering if they were telling a half-truth, and that there's no theater while running the original version...

Because you can't just copy and paste the code to the Xbox.

I may seem to come across as a -blam!-, but I'm really just trying to help.

Discussion for future Halo content unrelated to story should go in the Flood forum or the Halo Waypoint forums here.

That's what I thought.. They managed to film parts of the campaign gameplay, and the differences between the original and the remade.

Keep in mind that developers can free cam their games as much as they want without the need for a theater mode...

If they couldn't, then gameplay trailers would never have existed until such modes were invented. That is not the case.

The same goes for taking screenshots.

In all likelihood there won't be a theater because of how complicated it is to set one up for campaigns in the first place for Halo 3 and ODST due in part to the physics of the campaign engine. Which was why some features like rewinding were impossible because of the way objects would react differently when a film is rewound. Reach's campaign and theater had that issue in mind, and thus the issue was resolved for that theater's campaign.

Halo CEA on the other hand has no tweaks to the actual gameplay engine. Pretty as it may be, the physics are still exactly the same, and no doubt aren't in a position to take full advantage of Reach's theater system let alone the initial theater system from Halo 3. That much seems apparent by how Co-Op is restricted to only supporting a maximum of two players instead of four even with the coding to support Live.

I'm agent Nahman Jayden, eff-bee-eye.

It's been confirmed there will not be theatre for Anniversary. It's also been confirmed there will only be 2 player co-op, not 4 player.

I suppose this is a valid point you have made here. It's a shame, because I'd like to look at the graphics more closely in Theatre Mode.

My little cousin thought he could put his Halo PC disc into his PS3 and it would work.
