Today as I was playing Halo: Reach's Forge on Tempest, I couldn't help but notice the beautiful sea. I began thinking to myself "Why so many barriers?" "Why not implement an armor ability that lets you dive and play in the water?" "Why are we confined to such a finite space?"
As these questions rang in my ears, I wondered if we would ever see the day when we can Forge underwater, make tunnels beneath the sea that replicate forerunner structures. It seems a very logical question to me. Why won't Bungie let us into the deep blue?
I suppose that what I'm really trying to ask is, Bungie, Will you pretty please with a cherry on top continue to make maps as beautiful and mysterious as Tempest, but give us the freedom to play wherever we want?
On the rock cliffs parallel to the giant forerunner cannon, beneath the sea, within the electrified magnetic chamber. Let us be like the Chief and use not a man cannon to get across the map, but jump into an energy beam and be gently carried to another location.
Please allow us more creative play space, and more space to play creatively.
Sincerely,
Benjamin
