Subject: Do Bungie employees ever read the Bungie Community forum?

No, ExcessiveFaun6 is not my real gamertag.

Cortana: The message just repeats. "Regret, Regret, Regret."
Miranda: Any idea what it means?
Sgt. Johnson: Dear Humanity... we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!
Marines: Hoo-rah!

I've just noticed a lot less moderator/Bungie employee traffic in the Bungie Community forum. Is this because there exists less of a need for moderation (i.e. less straying from the code of conduct) in this forum, or because they simply don't read it?

The beta is super awesome. RogueAssassin27 is now the person who got my Totodile's nickname. Hoo-hah! Relevant.inb4lock

No, they're just getting ready for Bungie Day, I suppose.

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

Bungie employees do read this forum, it's just they (usually) don't post unless necessary. To answer your question, I'm not too certain as to why lately they haven't been on the forums.

  • 06.28.2011 11:45 AM PDT

I think they always read these threads, but only reply when it is absolutely necessary. It would make sense, seeing how every other user glorifies them.

Probably really busy with the Swag Bags, and all that stuff and prepping for an awesome send off to Halo. The forums are the least of their worries right now

I'm a college dropout.

If they post on here, that must mean they read it too.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

Something I noticed is that many of them do read the Community forum, and the other forums as well. The employees don't have the time to post and engage in conversation, so they mainly lurk; or so it seems.

Bungie employees reading? That's the craziest thing I've heard all day.

Bungie reads this forum more than any other, from what I can see.

[*Please note that anything in my posts is likely to be filled with sarcasm, and should be taken with a pinch of salt. I tend to help people, usually*]

If you had forums where your fanbase actively shared their opinion on everything your company and yourself did, wouldn't you be a little interested in seeing how they react to things you're doing?

I certainly would.

But bear in mind that not every employee wants the responsibility of direct interaction, for the most part because it would mean censoring themselves to only talk about and answer what they are allowed to. That can be quite a difficult task.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

Yeah, I've seen way more replies in the Bnet community forums than in any other forums.

This thread would have appealed to me more if it was written with crayons.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

I guess the community forum is most suited to the 'community guys', the Flood is random chit chat so it doesn't benefit them or us too much if they post there. The Universe is all about game lore, if they posted there too often it would ruin many of the mysteries around the stories, Jeremiah has the Optimatch forum sussed and the Reach forum is the Reach forum.
The Community forum has alot of site, community and general community project questions and suggestions so there is alot Bungie can comment on here.

Edit: didn't really read your question properly, I don't think its been too lacking in employee activity recently, as Bungie day nears I'm sure there will be more post from employees and ninja's.

Personally, I skim it but generally only reply to research and beta related posts since that's my job. Well, except for this post, obviously.

The community forum applied a lot of constructive criticism that helped form Bungie.net into a great community website. So I would think most of the webteam visits a few threads here and there.

So DrBunsen .. Do you have any answers on the swag bag thing? Being a batch were released?

  • 06.29.2011 10:16 AM PDT

I actually see employees and moderators the most when I visit the Community Forum.
