I feel like this should be called to somewhat proper attention. Apparently a mod locked this thread.
This thread was asking for support for a charity, 31 pages long. Not only did numerous other mods post, but Urk himself did as well. He also went on to tweet about it on the companies twitter.

So my question is why was this thread locked? It a more supportive post then half the posts in the flood, and was obviously endorsed by Urk, and therefore by association, Bungie.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

It was locked for many, many, many instances of bumping despite multiple warnings and private messages -- all of which, by the way, were accompanied by warnings that the thread would be locked if the bumping continued. The OP chose to not only ignore these warnings, but to flagrantly continue with the exact same behavior while promising to stop.

And let's be clear: Urk showed support for the cause itself, not for the related thread in the Flood Forum, which is still subject to all forum rules whether or not it's for a "good cause."

I believe that should more than answer your question.

I suspect llamas are secretly wizards. I <3 poptarts n' milk. I like me. Grimick is defined as: a logical parodox, the act of funnaling a potato down your throat, and a deliciously flavored muffin (with pecons and blueberries). Norway is the Swedish word for 'moron'. My sister has cancer, so i get to use handicap parking and cut small children in line at Disneyland.

"Don't eat doughnuts on thin ice."

"The pancake, my friend, has officially been flipped."

They likely had a really good reason, they may have found something that we can't. Don't fret, it wasn't locked without thought.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

I was unsure exactly how anyone could be so foolish as to get themselves banned for bumping, given the amount of times he warned; but then I looked at the OP's post history, in which his thread spans all the way back to page 8. That's incredible.

Even for a potentially good cause the rules cannot be broken, I suppose.

I now see there's another thread about this exact same topic that already has more replies in it. I'll repost this there. Please move discussion here.
