Think about it... new people are joining all the time, and they may not know where their thread goes/the rules, and inadvertedly posts in the wrong forum/breaks a rule. Someone tells them where to post it/what he did wrong, but it is already too late.

Now, if they had the ability to delete their own threads, they could just delete it, and move over to the correct forum, or delete whatever accidental rule infraction, saving the moderators the trouble of locking/movng it.

Thoughts?

there's no point for it. people can simply edit their posts to have nothing in it, and everyone understands when that happens.

On top of that, because of the bug, doing so will only make more problems for threads, especially larger ones.

Never going to happen. Too easy to spam, and then delete, spam and then delete.

New members have a 24 hour wait period before they can create their own threads, thats more then enough time to read the rules and learn where to post.

Sishka is right, he knows these things, dont question the gods of bungie.net. I also dont see what the point is, ther would be no more point in moderators, but its better to have them here.

No. If it is "too late" he can edit his post to say something different. If he didn't want to say something, he wouldn't have posted.

Most importantly, if he doesn't know the rules (like you said), then he shouldn't be here. When you join, you agree to them; whether you read them or not. If only people read the rules before hitting the "I agree" button.

You got that right, just erase whatever you said before, apologize for the inconvenience, and ask for the thread to be deleted. Or if you have a good question or something that has to do with bungie.net's online community, replace the thread with that and give it a new name. How's that for an answer? Help you at all?
