Subject: Machinima and capture card.

Well, I think it's time. I'm planning a Halo 3/ Halo Reach machinima. The story is hard to describe, but I've written the script and got the characters sorted. What I need is two things:

1) A video Capture Card

2) Knowledge on how to use it. I mean, what do I do? Do I record the scenes in Theater mode first, then copy the files over, or do I get the card and record the scenes while it's connected?

Any help would be apreciated.

Well, you'll need a Happauge HD PVR(200$-300$) for recording uses, it's the best on the market. First you're going to have to have planned what angles you want and you'll have to go into theater(after "acting" out your machinima)look up on YouTube on how to setup your HD PVR properly and to your preferences. Have your HD PVR ready to record. Since you already know what you want to record, press play in theater and record with your PVR. and remember these rcordings will be stored on your computer(obviously), so for you to assemble your machinima, an editing program like Sony Vegas Pro 10 would be great. You can edit your machinima how you want, cut footage, aadd effects and add voice/commentary over it. It's a very simple process all in all. Use YouTube aswell, because if you've had a question, most likely it's been answered before. I hope this has helped =)
