Subject: Is any one else :( about bungies lack of Halo now

I just wanted to know if any one else was as :( as me about bungies lack of being involved with halo now. I think we should help bungie buy halo back from Microsoft.

Per audacia ad astra. Halo Reach | Destiny

Not really. This way, we get more Halo stuff coming from 343i, as well as more cool stuff from Bungie. Win-win, rite?

On the contrary, I'm positively excited. Bungie has been forced to make Halo for the past ten years under Microsoft, I want to see what ideas Jason Jones and the other Bungie Elite have been repressing all that time.

The unknown is far more exciting than yet another foot step in a well-walked trail.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

No, Halo is still being made by others which is fine but I am excited for the future.

This. And 343 is just some ex-Bungie employees, that did work on Halo- meaning the series is in good hands- as close as you can get to actually being Bungie, while at the same time Bungie is working on a new series. And Bungie is one of the few studios I can say is consistently good- whether it's their now legendary (among the Bungie community, at least) shooter series, Marathon, or their squad-based (as opposed to army-based) real-time tactics game Myth. Where Bungie will head next, we don't know, but it'll sure as hell be good. And we still have Halo- it's basically double the awesome!

343 contains only 5 ex-Bungie Employees.

OT: A little, but I think Bungie might need to move on and let us see what else they can do.

I'm confident 343 will great things with halo. And, it'll be nice to see what kind of magic Bungie can do outside of halo. I just hope their new game isn't an MMO.

I'm looking forward to what their next game will be. It's been in development since what? 2007 or so?

I am sad that they won't have the reigns on future Halo releases but I firmly believe they will do much more without the constraints of M$ bearing down on them.

I think bungie is going to be better off without halo..... For now
They now have a chance to expand and grow without a strict "must be halo" rule. For all we know, bungie could create the halo killer that everyone keeps expecting from other developers.

Like my mom always used to tell me and my siblings:
"I brought you into this world I can take you out of it..."

Cryptic but true....

If by forced, you mean under contract with a publisher, then yes.

But do you really think it's going to be any different with Bungie's new 10 year contract with Activision?

They actually own the content that they create now, and they'll have control over their IP that they never had with Halo.

They're not Microsoft along with the fact that Bungie will still own the IP (full control) and they will be publishing the games.

Ohh okay. I was under the impression that Bungie owned all things Halo but were 'forced' to develop new games to address terms in a contract with Microsoft. But whatever. :)
