Say i was to make a thread about the effect of halo 2 vista on the bungie.net community. Would that be considered an off topic for this forum and moved to New Mombosa or Zanzibar, or would it be an on topic thread because the content of it is about the effect of the pc version bringing in more halo fans because they like it and stuff like that. Im confused because i dont want to go ahead and make a thread like that without knowing whether i was gonna get those smart replies of "I think it will have a big effect on the community because people would actually MAKE RELEVANT THREADS" i do that to off topicers a lot and i dont want to be seen as a hypocrite. Thank you.

The mods wouldn't mind, I'm sure. Just make it where you think it belongs, if it doesn't, they'll move it. Moving it won't kill it.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Ok, so if it is like mostly about the community, then sure. I don't see why it wouldn't belong here. However, if it's mostly about Halo 2 PC, then it belongs in The Maw.

If there's been a mistake made while posting, or if there's a bit of ambiguity as to where a thread should go, us moderators are more than happy to move the post where it should go if necessary. Heck, sometimes it takes me some time to puzzle out where a particular post belongs; nobody's perfect all the time.

In this case, all discussion of Halo on the PC and Mac (1, CE, and now 2) is being directed to The Maw right now as it's the forum with the most readers interested in that type of discussion.

-- Steve's hoping folks will feel free to ask if they have any questions like this; that's what us moderators are here for!

Thank you Anton P Nym, its always great to have some help and not get flamed for being "ignorant" .So the answer is no i cant even if it is talking about the community rocketing up or getting smaller due to a new game coming in right?

It all depends upon the subject of the post.

If it's about adding to Bungie.net in order to support new members of the community joining as a result of Halo 2 PC, then it would belong here in the Septagon. As would asking about how Bungie would support groups for H2PC, and similar subjects.

Pretty much everything else is talking about the game... and that does belong in the Maw.

-- Steve's thinking that, either way, you're still free to talk about it. It's just a matter of figuring out where.

Phrog pilots, reckless and free. We would strap into our birds, set the engines on fire, and leave these earthly bonds with a chorus of WHOP WHOP WHOP. Akin to beating your chest and howling in defiance at the rest of the world.

Also, if you're ever unsure of which forum to start a thread you can PM a moderator and ask first. That saves you and them the trouble of having it moved. They've been helpful and friendly to me in those ambiguous situations.

I doubt that's necessary. If you wish to know which forum your thread goes in, just follow these simple steps:

1) Decide what your topic is. Don't worry about the specifics, just boil down the topic into something simple, something that you can put into a few simple words, like "Bungie.net community; Bungie; Halo 2; etc."

2) After deciding your topic, find the forum it seems best suited for. For instance, if your threads topic is boiled down to "Halo 2 Matchmaking updates," then it would go in Optimatch. If your thread is about how the next project will affect the Bungie.net community (boiled down topic: Bungie.net community), then place it in the Septagon.

Note: If your thread contains multiple topics, then cut it down into several different threads placed in their appropriate forums.
