soo. short little 2 hour games on cell phones are what we are moving toward. wtf is that, I guess its time to rebuild my rig and just buy a dvd player. this -blam!- is honestly silly.

what happend to precise operator input = success...

and does anyone feel like they're just expecting the "communities" cooperation instead of asking? they're kinda basing the whole project off the fact they have a place for indy developers to show off their games... what if they dont.?

i was happier playing great games and being called a nerd, now 7 years later, im playing the same -blam!- games with the people doing the name calling, and they are being catered to yet again... if you suck at monopoly, dont -blam!- play monopoly.

Resistance is Futile

I barely play any mobile games...well other than Angry Birds. I had really expected Aerospace to be somewhere along the lines of Space Exploration not mobile games. Mobile games are something to pass the time but I'm sure Bungie has their own reasons. Perhaps Halo 4 will be the last of the great games of the Bungie universe. Maybe they needed a new challenger to step up and surpass Halo?

Im still looking forward to Halo 4 and Halo Anniversary anway!

I Can't wait! Crimson sounds fun.

I really hope this is sarcastic, because if you're really saying that a game you have no concept of apart from its vague title (the name of a color) sounds fun, then that cements my presumption that some fans will praise Bungie for absolutely no reason at all.

I'll save my praise for when I see something that exists. Not a color.

There's only so much you can do with a portable device.

Pressing a bunch of touch screen displays on an incredibly awkward keyboard is not the "next level of gaming."

Sorry for those of you who have their noses up Bungie's ass, but this is not "cool" or "awesome."

THANK YOU.

Nice to see i'm not the only one who realizes how ridiculous this is.

Why anyone would focus on developing games for a platform that's main function is not games is beyond me. When you mix two unrelated things, you sacrifice features of both for a slight amount of added "convenience." For example, Gameboy games were never as good as their SNES counterparts. Sure, they were similar, and a lot of GB games were great games. But no one can argue that had they been made for a console like the SNES that they wouldn't have had more potential. Granted the GB had the portability, but it sacrificed potential. The question is, is it worth it? Would you rather have a low-rate game you can take with you, or a quality game you can play at home? I'm fine with just playing at home personally, the way i've been doing all my life. Halo 4 isn't going to run on your iPhone, and even if it did, playing it on a touchscreen would be an absolute joke.

It seems like Bungie's going backwards here, instead of starting off developing on a poor system and then upgrading to a better and actual gaming system, they've done the exact opposite. A studio capable of producing monumental games like Halo is now going to make games on par with "Angry Birds."

From the update: "Bungie was originally founded in 1991 with two goals: to develop games that combine brilliant storytelling, beautiful art, and deep gameplay"

And the best platform to provide "brilliant storytelling", "beautiful art", and "deep gameplay"? Obviously a cell phone!

Mobile games are cheap time-wasters that are made to make money and nothing else. Nobody's designing mobile titles to create a deep, complex game. Anyone who thinks that a mobile game will be even close to past Bungie titles is out of their mind.

Why have a device which only plays games when you can have a mobile phone which will play games, connect to the Internet, take pictures and make phone calls?

You're right! Utilizing that logic, I combined my refrigerator, toilet, oven, and washing machine! Sure, my food doesn't smell or taste too great on the count of me also doing my business in my refrigerator, and it often tastes of laundry detergent, and having an oven inside the refrigerator really slows down cooking time! But hey! Why have a device that can only store food when you can have a device that stores food, handles waste, cooks, and cleans (while sacrificing each component's effectiveness in exchange for minor convenience)?!

Sadly, I don't think he's being sarcastic. Go back and look at the other 10 pages of responses, and I think you'll see that there is a very small slice of the community who is excited about this announcement.

hmmm... a little disappointing... I was hoping for an announcement of something more substantial.

Dude... This is extremely substantial. This is the announcement of hundreds of great games and not just one. That's possible the most substantial thing they've ever announced since their founding.

A simple life.

I don't care about mobile gaming, but it's where the money is headed, so I can understand a move like this.

Pretty good. If this goes as well as they hope it could bring more dough to help them with their new IP.

Tell me this isnt the what they were planing for all of the bungie community this bungie day! I mean seriously, how many of us are game designers? Please tell me there was something else the had for everyone to enjoy on Halo! Hidden Armor, new voices, campaign add-ons something?!

I mean if this is the big bungie day surprise for "everyone" then what about us Lowly non-game creators.... SOL? Please say there's more to it than that!

I've been a Loyal Bungie Lurker since it all started, dont tell me this is it at the end of it all! Please!

Saying the greatest thing Bungie has ever done is invent a -Blam-load of terrible mobile games is the kind of stuff that gets people into Harvard. You have inspired me to rip apart my wireless keyboard key by key and now i simply use all of the little keys instead of the big bulky thing that they come attached to. It was such a waste of space!

No, ExcessiveFaun6 is not my real gamertag.

Cortana: The message just repeats. "Regret, Regret, Regret."
Miranda: Any idea what it means?
Sgt. Johnson: Dear Humanity... we regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Earth. And we most definitely regret that the Corps just blew up our raggedy-ass fleet!
Marines: Hoo-rah!

Freedom has two parts: potential and resolution; as metaphors have two parts : form and interpretation; of course, the two are intertwined. Metaphor lines the road to freedom, as symbols and words are the bricks and mortar of meaning. Freedom being the briocoleus, the mason.

High Caliber Gaming

did you even read th whole article

bungie is helping little indie deelopers like the wereto get on thier feet and mobile games are easy to publish so india developers have access to publishing on them

bungie isnt abandoning thier philosophy thier still working hard on thier game and other projects meanwhile providing what would most likely be things like money to fund indie development and contacts and facilities

this is a very good thing and shows that bungie cares about the gaming community by supporting other developers other than themselves and all those people who are -blam!-ing about it not bing a new game it had only been in development 6 months and aerospace doesnt even sound like a goddam game

and to all the people saying they are greedy and trying to grab quick cash just shut the -blam!- up they are helping indie developers no matter what even if bungie makes money and theyre a buissness they arent a charity they need to eat and sleep under a roof too
