That's... cool?

  • 06.30.2011 9:44 AM PDT

Im glad Bungie is helping indie devs out. This announcement doesnt really surprise me witht the name of Aerospace. Its cool though. I wouldnt be surpirised if Bungie might try and make there own console someday to get closer to world domination, of course this Aerospace thing is kind of like a console.

I'm with everyone who is disappointed with the news. I was also hoping for something more interesting. Sure, mobile gaming is a growing business now because of the App Store boom, but I would much rather another console debut.

La-hoo, Za-her.

Looking at the big picture, this is probably a good move for Bungie. I'm glad they'll now have a stake in the mobile gaming market.

But I was hoping for a reason to be excited to be a Bungie fan again.

I guess you have to ask your self if you want to take on: Angry Birds or Halo 4. I'm starting to wonder if Microsoft haz -blam!-edthem from creating a game that would compete with Halo 4.

Can you be any more ridiculous? Mobile gaming is turning a corner. I am starting to see more deep (and justifiably more expensive) games creeping back into the App Store. My prediction from the small amount of art in the announcement is that Crimson will be a robust RPG for iPad and sell for no less that $9.99. Crimson will not be a $2 game and will not compete with Angry Birds in any meaningful way.

While Bungie Aerospace is helping with Crimson, Bungie-proper is full-bore working on the next big thing. It may compete with Halo 4, but it's bound to be different enough that Bungie and Halo fans will want both games.

I'm not that excited considering how I don't play mobile games. It's nice that Bungie will help out smaller games, but I still wish this was a new IP for them.

Why is everything becoming mobile now!!?!

This.

"Mobile" is just the thing which has replaced "portable". Its nothing new, but mobile phones have become much more popular and capable of gaming recently. Why have a device which only plays games when you can have a mobile phone which will play games, connect to the Internet, take pictures and make phone calls?

I'm not impressed at all, but I am not shocked either, I had a feeling this was not going to be announcement about BUNGIE's next Universe. Plus I don't even play Mobile based games.

  • 06.30.2011 9:58 AM PDT

Good to hear that Bungie isn't being a narcissistic jerk about their games. Can't wait to see what you do next!

  • 06.30.2011 9:59 AM PDT

My Best Bungie moment: finally beating all the Halo games on solo legendary.
My Worst Bungie moment: not seeing giant stuffie grunts in the Bungie store.

Yay! Everyone loves more fun games.

I lol'd.

Seriously, though, I am disappoint. Hopefully you guys have something important releasing on the 7th like, you know, a game? Otherwise, this whole Aerospace was more disappointing than Halo: Reach. :/

Um...
OK.

I hope we still get some details on what the next actual title is on Bungie day(Bungie usually keeps their promises, and I don't think this qualifies as the "next big thing", or "new hotness" they've been promising). Personally I don't play mobile games which makes this slightly disappointing.

Excellent news. I'm glad to still be part of the Bungie community.

On the bright side: ODST is no longer the biggest letdown in Bungie's history.

If you're not dead you're not done-Jessa (My rowing coach)

Too bad I have a windows phone and doubt a lot of these games will reach me :/

Definitely unexpected.....and a little disappointing.

"I agree OP. I, too, love feeling superior to others and enjoy the sensation of belonging to an imaginary elitist group on the internet."

This is a brilliant move on Bungie's part. Bravo, you guys. I knew you were my favorite developers for a reason.

Mobile is the new platform of games. Why buy a hunk of plastic to play games for $60 a pop, when I can have one device that can connect to the internet, make phone calls, take pictures, and contain my entire game library? This doesn't mean a bunch of shovelwear games. No, it means we get AAA titles on the cheap. The truth is, this is better for the consumer.

Bungie Cloud is the next step!

Loose talk is noose talk.

Pardon my confusion, but if Bungie is only partnering with what's-their-face, then why did they also buy the rights to their game (Crimson)?

Prepare to be disappointed.

I don't think Bungie will be saying anything about their Next Big Thing anytime soon.

In a year, we went from Flash Game quality to PS1 level games. Think about the progress that can be made with a major studio backing up the mobile platform.

I have knighted the Patron Saint of Poptarts. Do not fear. The world is saved.

With what you announced today, you guys should turn your eyes upon Adhesive Games. They've made a little noise about their new game "Hawken", but not much. They also said they've been looking to partner with a bigger company *cough hint at Bungie *cough. I think what their little team of awesomeness has created would make a kick ass game if a hint of Bungie was added. If you haven't seen the gameplay vids, prepare to drool.

Happily married to Fatal_Coin_Vest since July 1st, 2009.

Thank you, Captain K Mart.

If this works out the way I'm sure Bungie hopes it will, it could leave them in a prime position for making big bucks. Phones are beginning to reach the point where the hardware can push some amazing stuff. If Bungie can assert itself in a way to take advantage of that, which it is clearly doing, who knows what kind of an impact it would have in the future.

Either way, I'm glad I picked up my Evo 3D on Friday. I'll enjoy the top notch specs to play these games wonderfully!

  • 06.30.2011 11:23 AM PDT

This is really awesome for small developers. It really shows that Bungie cares.
I however don't play mobile games nor do I make them so its of no interest to me.
Still really great though, just not for me.
Well done Bungie.

I checked it out, and Hawken looks pretty sweet. It looks like it will be on PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. I'm guessing it will be about $20, and well worth the money.
