Right we all know that the spartans were ment to be humanity's last hope. but as we all know spartans can die and there wouldnt be enough to fight the entire covenant. So what do you think the UNSC/humanitys last resort tactic/weapon would be. im adding a poll but feel free to discuss/add your own answer

1.Sucide wont do much.
2.Evacuatin could work but fail in the end.
3.Fighting to the last man is the best tactical choice.
4.Nearly impossible

Fighting to the last man because there is no way they could surrender and live and they cannot escape from a fleet that moves faster then they can.

Am I supposed to write something funny here?

They can escape if covies don't know where they're going (Cole protocol worked fine)

Also, the not-so-suicide mission to covenant homeworld was planned (operation Red Flag)

Unreal, isn't it?

Actually, the Cole Protocol didn't protect the individual ships. It protected Humanity's planets by preventing human ships from jumping to them, since the Covenant could track the human ships.

Example: Pillar of Autumn made a [somewhat] random jump and arrived at the Halo ring, after the Covenant fleet.

And we know now that if the Pillar of Autumn had been able to try to attack the Covenant homeworld [High Charity], it would have been immediately destroyed by the thousands of ships in orbit.

#3 or #5.

So enter random coordinates and hope the covenant dont find them or track them using probes? High Charity had a fleet of 1000s of ships that would vaporize anything that did not provide the proper password which is updated every hour.

Mass Evac, but if Earth falls, there's no point in fighting since the ships would have nowhere to go with the Covenant and Flood after them.

High Charitty is the Master Covenant ship....not their home planet...Each Covenant species has its own home world except for the Prophet

Exactly. There is no 'Covenant Homeworld'; the closest thing is High Charity. The plan was to go to the Covenant Homeworld and capture a Prophet to use in negotiations. That would have required going to High Charity, which would be a suicide mission.
