The lion does not concern itself with the opinions of the sheep.

You can take that aerospace thing down now. It wasn't funny and it's months late.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Our community is awesome, we all took down Bungie store with anticipation.

HAHAHA

Sory, thought we were talking about swag sacks at first. :p

Aerospace will be great for devs.

Ya, sure. They want to be valve. bla bla bla.

I don't care.

Don't hype something u like it's going to be your next game and then announce something the majority of your user base doesn't give two -blam!-s about.

And what? They're too good for E3? Announce this crap there.

2/15/12: Francisco Porras, I'll miss you. Rest in Peace.

They didn't hype anything. All they did was say "we're going to tell you what aerospace is". And that's what they did.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

Seriously, that's all they've said on Aerospace. The community has been speculating for months, so I guess I can see why you would think Bungie has been talking with us about it the entire time.

Though, following this logic, people should also be thinking Bungie talks to the community more than most give them credit for. Hmm. Hmm..

They didn't hype anything. They just said they'd announced what Aerospace was. If anything, the community hyped it. It's not like Bungie said they're announcing they're next big game or IP.

Except, you know, those who want to be commercially successful. Games for the mobile platform tend to much more profitable than their console and PC counterparts, and allows for much more creativity and leeway which wouldn't be afforded in big budget development.

They put it's announcement at the tip of their 20th anniversary celebration.

I don't know how they could hype it anymore than that.

No.

A handful get there but the overwhelming majority get buried and make next to nothing. That's why they need things like aerospace.

Your one stop shop for all of 343's fabulous errors and ridiculous notions in the Halo lore.

Maybe because the first game under their partnership is getting close they decide to announce it completely?

So the hype was caused by their saying it would be announced?

......
I'm pretty sure there are a few ways they could have hyped it up more than that.

Keep in mind the production costs of each mobile game, where "Next to Nothing" (by the standards of traditional gaming sales) is an amount they can live with, and possibly even make a profit off of.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

Social gaming is far more profitable than console gaming, even PC gaming. ActiBlizzard makes far less money out of WoW than Zynga does from Farmville.

Exactly, they should have waited two or three years, or even forever, to announce areospace just because it landed near there 20th anniversary. They should feel bad for making 7-9 people think they were going to unveil their new FPS gaint.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. ~ Einstien

Its a smart idea for Bungie to gain a foothold in the mobile market. And they are giving independent devs an opportunity to create amazing games, an opportunity that Bungie themselves did not have when they got off the ground. Quite frankly I am proud of them.

This sounds like the gaming market in general, not just mobile games. A handful make millions, many are barely profitable if at all.
