No they didn't. They could have done NOTHING for their anniversary. Sure, maybe the swag bags could have went a bit differently, but in the end they are doing all this for us.

They could have just done nothing at all.

People saying they got "screwed over" from giving to charity in turn to get a bag of swag from a company that didn't even have to do this makes me a bit upset.

wasted 2 hours waiting around for them to be restocked and checkin twitter every five minutes. And for what just them to sell on a different account THANKS

It was a -blam!- situation to begin with with no guarantees that everyone would get one. The circumstances are a lot worse now, but wrongs were done on both sides. Not everyone should have to pay for said wrongs, but it's just what happened.

If Bungie did nothing for us for their anniversary, I'd be one of the people defending them. But this was just plain dirty. I didn't wait three hours, get on twitter for the first time in my life to listen, and even follow Bungie's instructions to have the swag sold through another medium unconfirmed to be legit until after the fact. No, that wasn't right.

I don't care if I wasn't offered candy. But don't slap me with it after saying you might get some.

Du hast mich.

A series of mistakes made by Bungie led to this. I would have been fine with not getting one if it wasn't for what they pulled last minute. I was one goddamn click away, and my own rationality -blam!-s me over. That is so much worse than simply being too slow.

I highly, highly doubt Bungie was trying to screw you over by putting the bags up elsewhere. They were most likely trying to alleviate traffic in order to get more bags here too.

None of us have any idea if the bags are even gone, or anything. So let's not jump to conclusions.

I'm not saying they were trying to screw us over, only that they did so. My reasoning is in my previous post above. Honestly, all I want is an apology. I (along with a lot of other people) did everything one could (again, aforementioned post above) that was confirmed legitimate to just get a chance of ordering the product.

My name is from Star Wars. Now you know.

Feel free to follow me on my twitter and stalk me.

They said limited supply for a reason. The fact that they said it was limited so many times was their only mistake, prompting the masses to constantly F5 and wait for a bag. When they said they would tell us when Amazon would fix the problem, they probably meant by the time Amazon told them, which would probably be long after since Amazon has other things to do than inform every client that the site is back up to place orders. Within seconds of being restored, the bags were swarmed and Bungie had no control and they were all gone in an instant. So please think about the situation before you complain and wine that it was "unfair" and "handled badly" as it was probably inevitable that something go wrong.

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

- "Cross of Iron"

You know i was really mad at them while i was fuming at the situation unfolding, but it really isnt there fault now that i see how it all worked out. We did really burn out amazons bungie server and they found the appropriate account to do it on in form of the people making the bags. So i can honestly say sorry for those posts i did make about being slapped in the face.
